Description of holiday house in Arganil, Costa de Prata / Silver Coast

This charmingly renovated house is on the South facing banks of the River Alva in the pretty market town of Coja

The house has been renovated sympathetically keeping many of the original features such as the converted wine cellar with stone walls and wooden beams. The spacious lounge has comfortable seating for 6 people, satellite TV, CD player, books and games, there is also a wood burner for the cooler months. A sun terrace leads from the lounge and affords lovely views across the river to the mountains beyond.

There are 3 double bedrooms, 2 have double beds and one room has 2 single beds. There are 2 bathrooms, the main bathroom has a bath with shower over and the other is an ensuite shower room from the main bedroom, there is a washing machine in this shower room.

The large kitchen is in the old wine cellar and is fully equipped for your self catering holiday. There is a cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and iron etc.

The dining area has a large refectory table. A door leads to the patio and private garden where you will find the BBQ. There is off road parking for 1 car to the front of the house.

All bedding and towels are provided - please note beach towels are not - please do not remove the towels from the house. The house is cleaned once per week.

A 20% deposit is required on booking and the balance 1 month before arrival. Short term lets may be available through the winter.

Location description

The ancient market town of Coja is set in the foothills of the Serra de Estrela in Central Portugal and is surrounded by spectacular countryside with wonderful views aroud every corner. There are winding rivers in the valleys and the hillsides are peppered with little villages still retaining the character of `Real Portugal`. The nearest River Beach is 200ms from the house where you can swim in the crystal clear waters or there are many others that you can discover along the river, some have canoes and pedaloes for hire. Coja has several good restaurants where you can try the local dishes alongside more international favourites, don`t forget to sample the red wines that are from this region! There are cafe/bars, supermarket, butcher, bakers, chemist, bank and small shops. This is a beautiful place to come and unwind in the sun!
