Location description

The Axarquia is one of the most beautiful and largely undiscovered parts of Andalucia, with mountains and rolling hills covered with olive groves, tropical fruit trees and moscatel grapes that are typical of the region. Almachar is one of the Moorish white villages that scatter the foothills of the Sierra Tajeda. From here it is possible to tour the great cities of Andalucia such as Granada and Seville, ride or walk the deserted tracks of Mount Maroma, drive to the deserted beaches in the Natural Park or the livelier beaches of Nerja, returning each evening to the tranquility and stunning landscapes of a traditional Spanish village as yet untouched by tourism. Ideal for touring, walking, sunbathing or simply winding down to the slow Spanish lifestyle

Other activities

There is an open air swimming pool a few minutes walk from the house - open throughout the summer months. Apart from the beach, the area is ideal for walking, birdwatching, horseriding, enjoying tapas and fresh local fish, touring, relaxing, joining in the fiestas and much more

Local events

There are fiestas in Almachar and the local area throughout most of the year -ask us for details.
