Peaceful private getaway
This was a gem of a place, with views of both the mountains and the sea. My husband and I stayed for three weeks over Christmas. It was totally private. Though our attentive hosts lived next door, we were unaware of them but were there when we needed them. They even went away for the night when we had friends round for a dinner party on New Year's Day.
The villa was pristine, which meant one felt immediately at home, and didn't have to spend the first day cleaning as one does with many rentals. Unlike some rental villas which can be sparse and rustic, this was exquisitely fitted and felt much more like good quality hotel.
The kitchen was well equipped, with UK quality pans, plenty of matching crockery and cutlery, a proper oven and adequate working space. I cooked a four course meal for eight there.
The bedroom was comfortable and with doors that opened on to the veranda, so it could be aired every day. The bedding was ironed white cotton, which is so much nicer than prints. There was ample storage for clothes.
Bathroom was spotless and also had large opening windows to keep it fresh.
There were three different places for dining, two outside and we ate out all but three nights - not bad for December!
The gardens are well tended, with mature trees and lovely evening lighting. There were several places to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
In terms of location, though it is not in a town, San Isidro and supermarkets are about 5 minutes away by car. The beach at El Medano is not much further.
The villa is at the upper end of the market but with this comes the reassurance that all is as one would expect in one's own home. It is ideal for people with busy lives at home who just want a stress free holiday, in private and in comfort. It is a doll's house of a place that we hope to return to again

Great holiday
Dear Rosemary & David,
We wanted to thank you both for a wonderful holiday. We were so impressed with the villa. We had searched through lots of villas on the internet and there is always the worry that the pictures don't live up to the real thing. In this case the pictures don't do it justice!
We were quite busy during the week exploring most of the island but couldn't wait to relax at the villa during the evening. The pool was actually warm at night as well!
We would recommend the restaurants at the near by small harbor at Los Abrigos. We ate there on three different evenings at three different restaurants and were impressed by each one.
Thanks again for a perfect holiday, we would recommend the villa to anyone.
Wayne and Kim.

WOW! Fantastic holiday!
Fabulous villa with a lovely warm pool surrounded by palm trees with fantastic views! Every small touch thought of and accounted for. Say a big yes to the 30 Euro welcome pack! A pleasant surprise awaits!
We recommend the trip to the Teide mountain, and a visit to the top on the cable car.
We also suggest (for those who can handle a choppy boat trip!) the Whale and Dolphin watching on the catamaran Freebird One from Puerto Colon. It was an amazing experience. You wont regret taking travel sick tablets, as it is very much worth it!
Try the little village near El Medano called Los Abrigos. They have a small late night Tuesday street market, and we can thoroughly recommend the restaurant called Roma for a drink or a meal. Totally rustic. The beach and wind surfing coves near Los Abrigos are unspolit, quiet and naturally beautiful.
We had a fantastic holiday, and will definitely return / recommend.

Finca Paloma What a Beauty
We would just to like to say what a wonderful stay we had at your Finca, the bubbly on arrival was a very nice surprise and got us in the holiday mood straight away. It was a pleasure to relax in an enjoyable atmosphere and your friendliness made the stay even more enjoyable. Your recommendation for eating out was right on the mark especially San Jose, gosh those fillet steaks were out of this world. Thank you both once again and we shall be thoroughly recommending the Finca to friends and family alike.

Perfect holiday
We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of champagne on our arrival. What a lovely way to start a holiday! The villa was well equipped and very comfortable. Swimming in the pool with views across the valley to the sea was a delightful way to spend the gloriously hot days. If you want to be part of the local holiday scene, then El Medano, 5 minutes away by car, is the place to go. There are plenty of places to eat & drink as well as a black sandy beach frequented by locals and Spanish visitors. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would recommend this place if you like the quieter sort of holiday.

Perfect Holidays
Dear Rosemary and David,
Just a few lines to thankyou for such a wonderful holiday at Finca Paloma.
As you know this was our first holiday to tenerife and we could not have had a better start. The villa had everything that we could have wanted, set in that wonderful garden. With that peace, quiet and such wonderful views. It was so restful and what a wonderful pool for those hot days. I was able to swim to the edge and just stand and look down towards the sea. It was complete tranquility.
The first night following the fireworks(how did you arrange that??????) the bottle of bubbly as we sat on the balcony. Josie said it created such a romantic feeling even at our age.
I hope we will be able to visit you again in the not to distant future .
Many many thanks.

Gem of a Property
Dear Rosemary & David,
Thank you for your email. It was lovely to meet you both too, just a shame we didn’t get to see more of you.
We consider it a blessing to have discovered this gem of a property, in such an idyllic and serene location. To be able to relax in an entirely private and tourist-free setting, where the only sound is the wind in the trees and the birdsong; was incredible. The Finca itself is lovely and romantic, and I can honestly speak for both of us when we say that we will struggle to find another place quite like it. After a rather long, delayed journey, we were overjoyed to be greeted with smiling faces and a bottle of champagne on ice, which was a site for sore eyes and parched tongues! The fact that you kindly stocked the fridge for our arrival, due to the shops being closed on a Sunday, was a very generous and thoughtful gesture.
In summary, I do believe that, had the clouds stayed away, we would have remained by the pool for the entire week and literally not moved! Nevertheless, we had a wonderful, stress - free holiday at Finca Paloma and, despite wanting to keep the place our little secret; we will be highly recommending it to all our friends and family.
We very much hope to visit again sometime, and maybe then we can share a glass of something cold and lots of Cornish stories…

Finca Paloma
After staying in varying forms of accomodation in varying areas of Tenerife for more than 20 years we have finally found our Shangri-La !! That is, even down to the views of mountain above, with clouds sometimes shrouding it, and the valley below it. This Paradise in Tenerife includes very high quality accomodation, a lovely pool that is heated to a genuine minimum of 30c every day, and the presence on site, but in the backround, of David and Rosemary Gill, who are delightful and accomodating people. We shall be there again in December!!

Relaxing Holiday
'We were looking for a relaxing holiday, and that's exactly what we got. The Finca Paloma was exactly as described, and for two weeks it was our little piece of heaven. The hosts Rosemary and David were as perfect as the Finca Paloma, on hand when needed and never to be seen at all other times. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Finca Paloma, and we certainly will return.

Wonderful Villa
Dear Rosemary and David
We had a good journey home but it was absolutely bitter when we got back to Bournemouth and has stayed the same ever since.
We both agree that our holiday to Finca Paloma was one of the most relaxing times we've spent and certainly a lovely change from staying in a hotel in one of the main resorts. I think you've found a niche in the market and hit exactly the right spot. The Villa is of a very high standard, wonderfully comfortable and very PRIVATE - not a word I'd usually associate with a holiday to Tenerife. We would definitely like to come again next year if we can.
My only suggestion is that it may be an idea to have a good Spanish/English dictionary in the villa as we found English was not widely spoken and we got a bit stuck in the supermarkets a couple of times! It also would be handy to have something like a Lonely Planet Guide and maybe some a books on the plants and animals of Tenerife.
Tim will forward you on some photos when he's had some time to sort through and edit them - he's off Christmas shopping at the moment!
Thanks so much for your hospitality.
Happy Christmas
Kind Regards
Janet and Tim
