Lovingly restored 17th century Farmhouse Gites with a large 12m x 6m swimming pool situated in the beautiful Perigord Vert region of the Dordogne. The five individually designed and fully equipped luxury gites are set in 2.5 acres of gardens within easy reach of the popular destinations of Brantome, Perigueux, St Jean de Cole and the fortified market town of Thiviers being just 4 kms away.
Nestling on the edge of the Perigord-LimousinNational Parc, Les Chardonnerets is surrounded by woodland and open countryside which are home to deer and wild boar as well as many rare and interesting birds and wild flower species.
Our location offers the peace and calm of rural France at its best, whilst being ideally located to explore all of the attractions of the Dordogne, Bordeaux regions, the Limousin and beyond.
Les Chardonnerets offers a choice of individually styled gites offering either 1 or 2 bedrooms, but all fitted and equipped to a very high standard, with their own patio and garden areas which lead into the main fully fenced large rear garden.

Location description
There is a huge amount to see, locally either on a short excursion or on a longer daytrip. A short drive to the west is the beautiful town of Brantome, standing on an island in the River Dronne, Brantome is known as the "Venice of France". The magnificent Abbey set against the hollowed out cliffs is a stunning backdrop. Hiring your own canoe and travelling along the river Dronne or just around Brantome itself is a beautiful way of spending the day or just the afternoon.Between Brantome and Thiviers is the Grotte de Villars a spectacular series of prehistoric caves containing incredible rock formations of stalagtites and stalagmites along with prehistoric paintings.
Nearby is the renaissance Chateau de Puyguilhem and ancient Abbey ruins.
At Nantheuil, which is only 10 minutes drive, there is an inland beach with a diving platform and swimming in the fresh water lake. Ideal for a family fun day.
Further afield there is the city of Perigueux with its striking cathedral ancient streets river cruises and street markets.
Some of the other attractions such as Bergerac, Rocamadour, Sarlat and Lascaux as well as the neighbouring Bordeaux wine region are within easy daytrip distance.
