Description of holiday gite in St Juire Champgillon, Pays de la Loire

La Guillemandiere Gites are located in a peaceful hamlet 5km from the town of Sainte Hermine. There are three gites, all with views across open countryside, and sharing the large gardens and swimming pool.

The Gites are available all year round and pets are welcome.

All gites can be rented individually or together for large family holidays and gatherings.

There is a large shared off-road parking area.

Le Petit Recoin is a two bedroom gite that can sleep up to 4 guests. There is a double bedroom and single bedroom with twin beds.

We also offer Le Sapin and Le Cerisier Gites. All three gites share the use of the 10m x6m salt water swimming pool along with a 3m circular children’s pool, which is securely fenced for your security. There is a large garden with a children’s play area containing slides, swings, boules court and trampoline and each gite has its own outside seating area with BBQ facilities.

All gites have a living room with TV & Freeview satellite channels, a DVD player, stereo and an internet access point. Central heating is available for the winter months at an extra charge.

All kitchens are fully equipped with a cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, kettle & toaster and lots of cutlery & crockery.

All bathrooms have a shower, hand basin and toilet.

Location description

La Guillemandiere is situated in a small hamlet near to the picturesque village of St. Juire Champgillon. The village has a bar and restaurant serving regional dishes both for lunch and dinner. There is also a hairdressers and small grocery shop, along with a bakery van that visits during the day.

During the summer months there is a market every Sunday morning where you can buy local produce and sample the local wines, aperitifs etc. The children can take a ride around the village in a cart pulled by the village donkey - great fun!

It is an ideal place to ride your cycles or to walk through the quiet lanes and take in the breathtaking scenery. Pack a picnic and stop off at the lake in St Martin Lars and just let time pass you by.

La Guillemandiere is a 40 minute drive from the beaches at La Tranche Sur Mer and La Rochelle. It is also only 20 minutes to Puy du Fou Medieval Theme Park, with its spectacular night time light show. The Marais Poitevin is only 30 minutes away. The towns of Fontenay Le Comte ,with its Go-Kart track and La Roche Sur Yon, with great shopping, Ice-Skating, ten pin bowling and an indoor swimming pool are all only 30 minutes away.

La Guillemandiere is situated in the South Vendée, close to the towns of Chantonnay, Sainte Hermine and Fontenay Le Comte and is easily accessed from the A83 motorway.

Both Nantes and La Rochelle Airport have flights from Budget Airlines - Ryanair, EasyJet, FlyBe. Car hire is available from both airports.

St Malo is only a 3 hour drive away, Cherbourg is 4 hours away, and Calais is 7.5 hours away.

A car is essential for this location.

The TGV now runs from Paris to La Roche sur Yon which is only 40 minutes away.
