La Joubertie is a haven of peace and tranquillity surrounded by 9 acres of private garden, park and woodland. The original Perigordian barn has been tastefully converted into 2 gites (one 2 bedroom & one 1 bedroom) and 1 chambre d’hote (B&B), carefully combining the original features with modern conveniences. We provide a high standard of accommodation at affordable prices. We enjoy a peaceful countryside environment with the market town of Vergt conveniently near. What could be better? This is a comfortable base to relax and recharge your batteries away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas - yet within easy reach of all major attractions.
The Flexi-Gite
Perfect for two! Loads of space and light, great for relaxing after a hard day's site-seeing.
Lounge - light, airy and comfortable. Equipped with comfy armchairs, a footstool, sofa and a coffee table plus a colour TV with satellite (Sky Freeview Channels) and DVD/CD player.
A library of mostly English DVDs, books and magazines available.
Kitchen - fully equipped with a large fridge & freezer, microwave, full electric oven and gas hob with all the equipment one would need to cook a delicious meal or to prepare your lunchtime snacks.
Dining area - full sized dining table and chairs that could easily seat 8 when fully extended. Useful if hiring with La Joubertie &/or Chambre Rose as well.
Front of the gite - large BBQ pit & large table/benches for those al fresco meals.
Bedroom - very comfortable double room with en suite luxury shower room. Hairdryer & radio/alarm clock provided.
Rear Private Paved Patio - with parasol table & chairs and a BBQ made for 2!

Location description
La Joubertie lies in a beautiful scenic setting in the heart of the region, which is steeped in history and we are surrounded by things to do.Aquitaine & the Dordogne (or the Perigord as it is sometimes known) is stunningly beautiful and is of incredible historic interest from the Pre-history of CroMagnon Man through medieval times with the allegiance of Eleanor of Aquitaine & Henry II), the II World War (resistance fighters & English/US soldiers hid in our woods according to our neighbours) and it is no secret that there is an English presence here today!

There are so many things to do in this region that we are confident that you will want to come back more than once!!

Local Markets
The nearest market is our local in Vergt (strawberry centre of the region) and is on every Friday morning. However, there is probably a market on everyday somewhere in the area! We have a list of the towns and their market days.

Sarlat de Caneda
No holiday to the Dordogne would be complete without visiting this stunning medieval town.
Perigueux
The capital town of the region is a beautiful medieval/Roman town.
Le Bugue
A pretty little town on the Vezere River - the Tuesday market is a "must do"!!

Ancient bastide towns that capture the essence of medieval France
Bergerac
Bergerac old town straddles the banks of the Dordogne River. Good for shopping and eating out or you can go for a cruise down the river.
