Description of holiday gite near Mirambeau, Poitou-Charentes

Les Petits Coins gites, with heated swimming pool, are set in the heart of the small village of Semoussac in the Charente Maritime region of France.

Surrounded by open countryside, they are midway between Royan and Bordeaux, only 10 minutes from the market town of Mirambeau and 35 minutes from sandy beaches.

Les Marroniers is a large and airy 3 bedroom gite. Two of the bedrooms open out directly onto your own private terrace. Here you can enjoy everything - from a quiet breakfast to lunch and dinner, winding down with a glass or two of wine, whilst watching the sun go down on another perfect summers day.

This is the "corner house", from where the property gets its name ("Les Petits Coins") and is the right-hand part of the long house in the picture. It's a pretty stone cottage with all rooms on the ground floor and its own terrace leading into the garden.

The living room has a dining table and chairs as well as comfortable settees, coffee table and lamps, a TV / video and DVD player with plenty of videos / DVDs to rent and a bookcase full of English books - a pleasant room in which to relax.

The kitchen leads off the living room and is well equipped with crockery and utensils. There is a full size gas cooker, fridge, microwave and electric toaster.

The washing machine is located in the shower room, where there is also a vanity unit and WC.

All bedrooms have built-in wardrobes, a chest of drawers or dressing table and bedside tables with lamps.

There is a large family room which has a double and a single bed and the other two bedrooms have two single beds in each.

Wheelchair accessible with ramps, wider doors and a wheel-in wet room.

Outside there is a walled terrace with garden furniture, barbecue and wonderful views over the gardens and pool towards the Gironde estuary - the ideal spot for breakfast in the morning sunshine.

House towels are available to hire @ €15 per week per 2 people.
Pool / beach towels are not available.
Subject to availability - we can supply a cot and high chair.

Location description

We are located in a quite very French hamlet that allows our guests to unwind and allow the children to have the run of the gardens in complete safety. the pool is secured with a fence and self locking gates. If you wish we are within a short drive of beaches, large historical roman towns, cities such as Bordeaux, Saint or Royan.

Other activities

During the summer we have outdoor Pizza nights, painting for children etc.

Local events

In high season Jonzac, our local town, has a street party every Wednesday night. This is a an open air event with music, food and lots of fun for all the family.

Directions

As you leave the A10, at exit 37, the service road will bring you to the D730 where you turn left. Continue on about a mile or so to a sign on your left for Semillac take this turn. This road will lead you directly to Semoussac on the left in about 3 to 4 minutes.
