Description
Eco-Gites of Lenault is a spacious gite in a quiet rural location that sleeps up to 5 people and a baby in a travel cot. It is situated on our smallholding in the Normandy countryside and at various times you can come and collect eggs and help feed the animals if you wish. The pigs are always up for a back scratch too.
For those wishing to have a relaxing holiday whilst the children wear themselves out, adults can relax in their own garden whilst close-by there is a large play area for the children with covered area for shade or shelter. It includes swings, a slide, a play tower and a sand pit. Best of all though, the large trampoline has always proved very popular with many of our younger guests.
For visits in the cooler months the lovely wood burner (with fire guard if needed) gives a very cosy feel to the property and logs are included in your rental price. We provide a selection of books and games and there is a TV with DVD player.
For those travelling with young children we supply a wide range of kit including a travel cot, high chair, stair gates, toys, books, games, changing mat, potty, toilet seat, step, waterproof mattress covers, night light, children's crockery/cutlery and a bed guard. That should reduce down your packing!
On arrival you will find all the beds made and a welcome box ready for you including some home-made jam, a home baked cake or biscuits and a bottle of local Normandy cider. Enjoy!

Location description
Eco-Gites of Lenault is 2kms outside the small village of Lenault where a small pizzeria is open on summer weekends. The nearest bakery, which sells the most delicious bread and cakes, is in the neighbouring village, 5 km away. Local towns are 11-13kms away where you will find shops, supermarkets, banks, swimming pools, tourist information offices etc.
The surrounding countryside is exceptionally beautiful with wooded valleys, rivers, apple orchards and hidden villages all waiting to be discovered.
We are on the edge of Swiss Normandy, famous for it's rocky scenery and outdoor pursuits - rock climbing, kayaking, horse riding etc. For those wanting even more adrenalin pumping activities there are local zip wires, tree top trails and bungee jumping.
There are daily markets in local towns.
The coast is an hour away where you will find broad sandy beaches and shallow waters, ideal for children.
Other activities
There are 2 local horse riding stables. At Clécy, 20 mins away, you can hire bikes and kayak along the river.
An extensive network of footpaths (which you can also cycle on) start right at our back gate and we have guided trails leaflets you can borrow.
For thrill seekers, Souleuvre Aqueduct and Clécy offer summer toboggan runs, bungee jumping, cliff-side walks and giant zip wires.
Local events
Normandy has an extensive and varied programme of events throughout the year from food festivals, music concerts and exhibitions on art, history etc. 2016 sees the 950th anniversary of the Norman Invasion by William and many events are planned to celebrate this.
Tourist attractions
Eco-Gites of Lenault is ideally situated for a wide range of tourist attractions, so much so that many of our guests have returned more than once just to get everything done!

Three UNESCO World Heritage sites are within easy reach of the gite:
* The beautiful town of Bayeux with its world famous Tapestry
* The imposing Mont St Michel perched on a rocky promontory in the bay.
* The city of Le Havre which was built after WWII to reflect it's history whilst also embracing modernity.
The D-Day Landing beaches and associated museums, cemeteries and driving trails.
Falaise Castle, birthplace of William the Conqueror with innovative displays using hand held tablets.
Caen - the capital of Normandy with it's castle, abbeys and shopping.
Jurques Zoo - just 20 minutes away
Coastal towns - Deauville, Honfleur, Cherbourg, Granville and many more

If you are travelling with Brittany Ferries we have a code that will give you 10% off your crossing with them.
There are train stations at Vire, Flers and Caen where you can hire cars.

We offer a 15% discount if only a couple stay in mid or low season.
We accept short breaks from 1 night in mid and low season with variable start dates although in certain weeks we set a minimum number of nights guests can stay. Please contact us for the prices of short breaks and availability.
We have a code to give you 20% off crossings with Brittany Ferries.
