Description of holiday gite in Cendrieux, Aquitaine
The gites are in a 17th century barn, with numerous exposed beams and stone walls providing 2 adjoining gites. The gites each have an open plan living space with well equipped kitchen area. 11 x 5 metre pool set in established garden with many mature trees offering plenty of dappled shade and stunning views from pool and terrace across rolling countryside.
Inside
* Fully equiped kitchen area including - full size cooker, microwave, separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher, food processor, cook's knives, serving dishes, kettle, teapot and all cooking utensils. There is also a washing machine, iron & ironing board.
* TV, Satellite TV (with some English channels), and DVD (also plays CDs). Large selection of books.
* Internet WIFI connection available
* To minimize the amount of luggage you need to bring (especially for those flying) All bed linen and towels are provided and included in the price, including pool towels. For 2 week bookings, a fresh set of linen and towels will be provided for the 2nd week. Please note, we do not provide bed linen for the cot.
* Mobile air-conditioning unit. Fan provided in each bedroom
* Cot, highchair and child gate may be available - please ask when booking. (We do not have any linen for the cot).
* Smoking - In the interest of safety and the comfort of fellow / subsequent guests, we kindly request that you refrain from smoking inside the gite.
* Fire extinguisher in kitchen. Smoke alarms.

2 Twin bedroom with 2 single beds - with cathedral ceiling and beautiful exposed beams is accessed by steep stairs.
* 4 Bathrooms
Outside
* Shared luxury swimming pool - 11 x 5m, lit at night. Large Roman steps provide easy access to the pool. The pool is fenced in accordance with AFNOR regulations (French safety law).
* The pool is not heated, but during the last three years we have been able to swim from mid May until late September. The pool temperature can be up to 30 C.
* Stunning views across rolling countryside from the gite terraces and pool. Over 1/2 acre of established gardens for sole use by gite guests, with many mature trees offering plenty of dappled shade. Wide variety of fruit trees including cherry, plum, grape, apple, peach, fig, apricot and walnut.
* We are surrounded by open fields and woods - excellent for an evening stroll or cycle
* There is plenty of garden furniture and barbecue equipment. Sun loungers & reclining chairs by the pool, garden furniture on each patio, to enjoy those long summer evenings and benches under the trees.
* 5 Adult bikes available - included in the price.

There is also a bar/tabac and a post office.

Les Eyzies - 20 kms/20mins pre-historic caves & museums.
Sarlat - 40 kms/45mins famous medieval town.

There are daily markets in the surrounding area & during July & August many local towns & villages have night markets, where you can spend a very pleasant evening, buy your food & wine from the individual stalls (like a food court), listen to the music. By Car: We are approximately 350 miles from St Malo and 500 miles from Calais & Boulogne.
Both are easy journeys using the excellent French motorway network. If you'd like us to recommend a simple route - just ask.
By Air:
Bergerac 35 minutes with direct low cost flights from Stansted, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Southampton or Bristol.
Bordeaux 2 hours direct flights from Manchester, East Midlands (Nottingham) and Gatwick.
