Location description

THE NATURAL RESERVATIONS
The natural reservation “Foci dello Stella” (mouths of river Stella) includes the river Stella’s delta and the nearby lagoon area; it is a very extended and luxurious reed thicket with a dense water network which gradually flows into the lagoon. As a matter of fact, the reed thicket is a very common expression of the reservation’s life.

The natural reservation “Valle Canal Novo” was built up from an old fishing valley of about 35 hectares, and some adjacent land. The valley presents itself as a lagoon-like area with expanses of water, kept away from the tides by perimetrical embankments. The main aspect is that of the brackish swamp.
