Location description

Our area is full of interesting places to visit and things to do. We are surrounded by the famouse Bordeaux and Bergerac vineyards and it is possible to visit a free degustation(wine tasting) every day of the week. There are a myriad of beautiful Bastide towns and historical buildings, many of the towns have a weekly market and run evening markets during the summer months. Perfect for soaking up french life. There are many Fetes throughout the year. Fontet which is about 15km away is a marina located between the Garonne river and the Canal and it has it's own supervised bathing at the manmade beach and a large play area. Blasimon Lake offers fishing and a lovely manmade beach area suroounded by picnic areas in acres of forest. The Lac de Clarens below Marmande offers watersports, bathing and many outdoor activities. Arcachon and Bicarosse are possible for a day trip and offer miles of snady beaches on the Atlantic Coast

Monsegur has an Annual Jazz Festival in July which attracts thousands of visitors each year, along with night markets with live music and many smaller fetes and bodegas. Nearby Duras has a Fete du Vin, evening markets,live music. Many of the towns in the area have markets and fetes throughout the year.

We are well served with budget airlines such as Ryanair and FlyBe into Bergerac and BmiBaby into Bordeaux, as well as British Airways, AirFrance etc. Local car hire is available at all the airports and stations and we can also organise airport pick up for those who prefer not driving. There are train stations in lots of the surrounding towns which link up with the TGV network, nearby Langon, Libourne and Marmande all have connecting services. Ferries are plentiful along the Northern french course and Bilbao and Santander in Northern Spain are a ood alterntive for those who like to spend time on the boat.
