Pomar Velho is a Turismo Rural which has been fully recognised and inspected by the Portuguese Ministry of Tourism.
Pomar Velho was tastefully renovated to a high spec whilst retaining its ancient rural character. It's spacious inside and is set in 5 acres of agricultural terracing,with a spring and a stream burbling by, a large terrace shaded by an ancient mulberry, orange and lemon trees and kiwi vines for al fresco dining. At the back of the house is the 5m x 10m filtered pool with decking, terraces and stunning views to the São Mamede mountain range.
The house has lovely stonework features and original beams throughout the 500 sq metres of living space. Perfect for large house parties at any time of year, log burning stoves and central heating make it warm and cosy in the winter whilst the thick ancient stone walls keep you cool in the summer.
There are 7 bedrooms, 6 ensuite and one inter-connecting, large dining room with open fire, ancient stone press and bread oven, two living rooms with log burning stoves, satellite TV, DVD's and a library area. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped.
Pomar Velho is popular with large groups [ winter or summer ] who wish to get together for sunny summer holidays or winter parties.
