Description of holiday farmhouse in Minervino di Lecce, Puglia
The Masseria of the 12 grains is a construction that was fortified in the 18th century, it's situated in the middle of the countryside just outside Minervino di Lecce (a 5 minute walk), 7 kms from the beach and only a 20 minute drive from Otranto.
The structure, approximately 1000 square meters, is surrounded by an ancient wall with a spacious court and is named after the 12 underground grains , excavated in the stone. It was rebuilt in 2008 respecting the original building materials and the original style.
The Masseria has a large terrace and garden offers 7bedrooms that can accommodate people organizing the rooms according to the requirements of its guests. We have rooms for 2 where we can add a small bed, rooms with loft conversions that can accommodate up to 4 people.One indipendent nice house with kitchen for 4 people. Each room is provided with a bathroom, air conditioning and a small balcony.
All the rooms are non smoking and offer internet Wi-Fi access to the web. We propose a typical Mediterranean self service breakfast.
The masseria has spacious communal spaces equipped with tv, fire place, books and music.
Our bed and breakfast has been conceived as a place that offers hospitality to friends and friends of friends that want to spend time in total tranquillity and have a logistical base from where to visit Salento (Apulia).
You will find tranquillity a short stroll away from the most beautiful spots in Salento amongst sea and sun, history and art, good food and great wines.

The Masseria is situated in a strategic position between the Adriatic Sea, the Ionian sea and the "peak" of Santa Maria di Leuca. The closest beaches are approximately 7 km away where you will find sandy beaches and amazing sea cliffs that look out on to the majestic blue Apulian sea.Ideal location to visit the beauty of Puglia and Salento. Recommended beachs are Alimini (sand) , Porto Badisco (Rocks), Otranto. At 10 minutes termal Baths witn a convention with us.
Baroc town to visit are Lecce, Otranto, Galatina

The closest beaches are approximately 7 km away where you will find sandy beaches and amazing sea cliffs that look out on to the majestic blue Apulian sea.A few kilometres away you can find beautiful resorts and sites such as Porto Badisco (10 mins), Castro, Otranto (20 mins), lakes and beaches of the natural park of Alimini (20 mins).
At only 13 mins away there is the famous Santa Cesarea Terme, for which we can offer thermal packages.
If you want to travel a little further you can reach Gallipoli (40 km) and Porto Cesareo (50 km) on the Ionian sea and Santa Maria di Leuca (50 km) which is the watershed between the Ionian and Adriatic seas, and enjoy the famous beaches.
Besides the blue seas, refreshing swimming and great fishing possibilities, you can also visit the caves on the sea, "zinzulusa" being the best known.
Each town in Salento has its rich history and hence a good reason for being visited.
Lecce, with its baroque atmosphere, that can also be found in the towns of Narḍ and Galatina.
Santa Cesarea offers thermal baths, the majestic byzantine Otranto with its white houses that seem to fall sheer into the sea.
The nine towns of the Salentine Greece where still today people talk a Modern Greek dialect.
Santa Maria di Leuca with its peak stroked or scrambles by the winds of the Mediterranean, where they say Enea and also Saint Peter once landed.
Gallipoli with its historical centre on an Island that is connected to the mainland by a 16th century bridge.

By car : driving from the north of Italy , you must take the superstrada Bari- Brindisi-Lecce-Maglie, and drive towards Otranto, Palmariggi, Minervino and you will then be 2 minutes away from the area of Specchia Gallone where you will find the masseria.
If you come by train you need to reach the station of Lecce.
If you want to arrive by plane , the nearest airport is Brindisi. It is served by Alitalia and by low- cost companies like Ryanair and Easyjet. From the airport you can either rent a car or else catch a bus and reach Lecce.
