Description of holiday farmhouse near Kobarid, Goriska

Katrič is a rustic Slovenian farmhouse that has been lovingly restored retaining its features but incorporating modern facilities. Located at the heart of the charming village of Kamno halfway between Tolmin and Kobarid it is ideally located for any visitor who wishes to enjoy the Soča valley and all it has to offer. The house is only a 10 minute stroll to the river perfect for fishing, swimming or enjoying a picnic by the riverside.

If you continue up the road past the house you will find yourself in the Triglav National Park at the base of mount Krn. Here it is possible to enjoy the wonders of mountain hiking taking in the flora and fauna or just enjoy a cool beer at the Kuhinja Planina Mountain Hut and take in the spectacular views.

The house has all the facilities you will need to make your stay a pleasant and comfortable experience, easily sleeping 4-6 people. Although by special request further arrangements can be made. On the ground floor is a kitchen/dining area with open plan space to the living room and digital TV. Also a downstairs toilet and boiler room for drying out any wet gear, also use of a washing machine. On the first floor is a double bedroom with beautiful country views, a single bedroom and large bathroom with large shower, bath and toilet. Access off this floor onto a large wooden balcony. The third floor consists of another double and single bed with its own en-suite bathroom and a further seating area. From here there are far reaching views of the valley down to Tolmin.

Throughout the house there are many character features like exposed wooden beams, a stone fireplace, original wooden floorboards and antique furniture creating a rustic and cosy living space. But with a modern kitchen and bathrooms you can enjoy the best of both worlds. The whole house has WIFI access perfect if you need to keep in touch with home or to check your e-mail if you cannot leave it behind!.

Outside is a lovely garden and seating area where you can enjoy dining outside and even a bbq. There is off road parking for 2 cars.

Location description

Kamno village is a tradional Slovenian farming village. Half way between the towns of Tolmin and Kobarid. The emerald green Soca river flows down this valley right past Kamno. Just outside the village there is perfect access to the river for Fly Fishing, Kayaking and all other watersports. We are also a 15 minute drive from the Triglav National Park where there are many mountain trails and hikes for all abilities.
