Description of holiday farmhouse near Icod de los Vinos, Tenerife

The finca is over 150 years old and has been lovingly restored to a high standard. It is in a very quiet rural area. There is a beautiful enclosed courtyard lined with fruit trees and a vine which is over 100 years old. During the summer you can eat the plums and peaches straight from the trees. There are 2 barbecue areas with views to the sea, and 2 garden areas.

There are many restaurants and supermarkets in the local area. Garachico is only 15 minutes away and Puerto de la Cruz is only 20 minutes away, with many restaurants and a casino. Ideal area to base yourself to see the north of the island.

The property has a 1 bedroom self-contained cottage (La Casita), and a further 3 double bedrooms which share a lounge/kitchen dining room (Luna de Miel, La Familia 1 and La Familia 2).

La Casita cottage has 1 double bedroom, an en-suite with wc, large shower, bidet and vanity sink. La casita's kitchen has, electric oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, cooking utensils, cutlery/crockery, fridge and a table and 2 chairs. La Casita's lounge has sofa, coffee table, book case, maps and walking guides, CD player, board games, wood burner fire, DVD player, Laptop computer with ADSL and satellite TV. All rooms have a hair dryer

Luna de Miel has a large king size bed, an en-suite with wc, large shower, bidet and vanity sink. Luna de Miel, La Familia 1 & 2 share a kitchen which has, electric oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, cooking utensils, cutlery/crockery, fridge and a table and 6 chairs, a lounge sofa, satellite TV, DVD player, books/maps and a Laptop computer with ADSL. All rooms have a hair dryer

La Familia 1 has a double bed and La Familia 2 has either a king size bed or 2 single beds. La Familia 1 and La Familia 2 are bedrooms connected by a Jack and jill en-suite, with wc, shower and vanity sink. If you book only 1 of the rooms the other room will not be rented out to other people for the period of your stay. Luna de Miel, La Familia 1 & 2 share a kitchen which has, electric oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, cooking utensils, cutlery/crockery, fridge and a table and 6 chairs, a lounge sofa, satellite TV, DVD player, books/maps and a Laptop computer with ADSL. All rooms have a hair dryer

Utility Room: A washing machine, iron and ironing board, for all to use at no extra cost. Plus cushions and parasols for the garden chairs, tables and sun beds.

Cleaning service: All bed linen and towels are included (not beach towels). The beds and towels are changed weekly.

Outdoors:
There is a courtyard with built in, covered BBQ, with a table and 4 chairs. There are 2 other garden areas. One has 2 sunbeds and a table with 2 chairs. The other is on 2 levels and has a table and 6 chairs, with a BBQ, and 2 sun beds. There is a further table with 6 chairs outside the salon door, with spectacular views of the sea

Location description

Tenerife is an all year round destination. The climate is not too hot in the summer, or too cold in the winter, between 18c and 24c on average. The nearest beach is playa San Marcos, and is 10 minutes by car. The sand is black.

The area is quiet and popular with locals. The nearest golf course is Buenavista Golf Club which is 40 minutes by car. This course is on the coast and is spectacular. It was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and opened in 2004. It is truely challenging with lush fairways. It has water hazards and is beautifully landscaped. A very special golfing experience.

The nearest village is Icod de los Vinos and is only 8 minutes drive away. The Drago Millenario, is a 1000+ year old tree, and can be seen daily for a small fee. Icod de los Vinos is a very nice town.

It has many smaller boutique shops, and 2 large supermarket chains. It is has a large and very good selection of restaurants, banks and cafes.
