Description of holiday farmhouse in Eymet, Aquitaine

The cottage "LES CHÊNES de LAUZANAC" is situated in Aquitaine, 100 km far from Bordeaux and its airport, in the South of the DORDOGNE at 20 km far from Bergerac and its airport and 3 km far from the center of EYMET.

This ancient stone farmhouse has been restored in the style of the region but is modern and cosy and comfortable. It's situated in the countryside, at 200 m from the river Dropt and 1 km from a reservoir with a path around.

There is a large open plan living room/dining room with a big fireplace and a kitchen area equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, microwave and a fridge/freezer. There is also an Internet access and some general information about the area.
The first floor is reached by a wrought iron staircase, made here on the farm. There are three double bedrooms with a writing table and an armoire, two with a bathroom with shower and wc and one with a bathroom with bath and wc. These bedrooms are separated by a small television room that can be curtained off, which also has a double sofa bed.
Outside are two private gardens on different levels. Opposite the salon kitchen is a covered terrace with a barbecue and garden furniture. The second garden has an 8 x 4 meter private swimming pool with a shady poolhouse and shower.

Lauzanac is also a farm with all the pets for the happiness of the children: donkeys, horse, goats, sheep, cows, rabbits ...

Not far from the famous places like Bergerac, Sarlat, Les Eyzies, Lascaux, Rocamadour ... the castles : Monbazillac, Biron, Lanquais, Castelnaud ... the medieval villages : Eymet, Issigeac, Monpazier ... the food : foie gras, confits, magrets, cèpes or truffes ... the good wine : St Emilion, Medoc, Bergerac, Duras ...

Location description

In EYMET, you could go by walking to drink a tea or a coffe on the square during the day. Lovely market each Thursday morning also on the square since the creation of the Bastide in 1270.
Lots of castle to visit or prehistoric places not far from our place.
Medieval villages with lovely markets all around. E.G. Issigeac on Sunday morning.
Soumensac is a tiny village at 5 km far from the farm. You can go by walking and admire there the view.
Different concerts all along the year in EYMET.
Different exibitions or festivals.

1 very interesting if you want to teach to your children. It's a rural golf at 3 km far from us in the lovely countryside near the river Dropt. Very cheap and lovely.

Other wise, we can help you to find the best way to travel to us when asking questions about the cottage. Some people hire a car from the ferry and cross France to arrive at Lauzanac. Others arrive at Bordeaux' airport and rent a car there. Then, you need 1h30 to arrive home. If you arrive by Bergerac, you need 25 mn to arrive.
