    Description

    Model Farm is a country house consisting of an impressive Victorian frontage to a 17th century farmhouse. The Victorian part of the building retains many of the original features such as :- high moulded ceilings, wooden floors and working fireplaces. There are 10 bedrooms 5 have en-suite facilities and there are 3 bathrooms. The house is south facing overlooking the gardens and has a modern 'green' wood pellet boiler system keeping the house warm all year round.
    Situated in the hamlet of Perry Green only 8 minutes away by car from Bridgwater, yet in the peace and quiet of the countryside, Model Farm is just the place to unwind and relax. Superb views of the Quantocks from the extensive 4 acre garden which can be visited once a year as part of the National Gardens Scheme or used exclusively with the country house. The pretty village of Cannington is close by with an interesting 20 minute walk by footpaths over fields. Junctions 23 and 24 of the M5 are only 5 miles away giving swift links to all areas.

    In the lounge there is plenty of comfy seating on leather chesterfields, with an open fire. Provided is digital 4kHD TV and Blue-ray DVD, plus a selection of DVDs, games and books.
    There is free wireless broadband available.
    The main kitchen/diner is modern and fully equipped with a microwave, cooker, hob, American fridge/freezer, dishwasher, radio and TV. There are large tables which will seat 20.

    The second kitchen/diner is well fitted out and can be used to prepare food when using the al-fresco dinning and BBQ area in the Loggia next to it.
    Outside the apartments is the front garden with lawns and flower beds. You are also welcome to use the 4 acres of gardens with woods, a dozen large flower/shrub beds in a country garden style, wild life pond and wild flower meadows. There is also plenty of room for outside games like croquette or cricket.
    Parking is at the front of the house with plenty of space.

    Location description

    Whilst in a rural setting Model Farm is only 8 minutes from the centre of Bridgwater, close to the coast, Quantock Hills, and the towns of Taunton, Glastonbury and Wells. There are many footpaths in the area that can be accessed from the farm, the Parrett Way passes nearby and the village of Cannington with its Church, walled garden, shops and pubs is a pleasant walk.

    There are many gardens open to the public, Hestercombe,
    Cothay and Barrington to name a few, we even open our gardens for the NGS occasionally.

    Those with an interest in history have plenty of museums to visit including, King John's Hunting Lodge, Taunton Castle, and Admiral Blake's Museum, Visit the caves at Cheddar Gorge or Wookey Hole. The bird life on the levels is renowned, as are the potters and basket weavers. A visit to Somerset would not be complete without tasting the local wines and ciders.

    - From M5 (J23 or J24) follow A38 into Bridgwater.
    - Follow sign A39 Minehead ( ignore first sign to Wembdon).
    - After leaving Bridgwater continue for approximately 2 miles, you will see a brown and white sign to Model Farm, turn right at the roundabout.
    - Another sign points down a lane on the left, turn down the lane. - After 1 mile a third sign points down a 'no through road'.
    - Model Farm is the second building on the left.
