Description of holiday farmhouse near Beddgelert, North Wales / Snowdonia
Listed 18th century traditional Welsh farmhouse now renovated but retaining many period features. Set in 90 private acres of the glorious Snowdonia National Park near Beddgelert, North Wales.
Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms. Double with Victorian style white and brass metal bedstead and original boarded and beamed ceiling. Fresh blue and lemon colour scheme. Fully carpeted with CH radiator. Twin with 2 Victorian style white metal bedsteads and separate sitting area. Spring-time green and lemon colour scheme. Fully carpeted with CH radiator. Small bathroom with 4ft bath with Victorian-style mixer tap, original boarded ceiling, WC, basin and heated towel rail. Carpeted stairs. Bunks downstairs with privacy curtains and individual reading lamps. Glorious red and white colour scheme and a hit with children and teens with a desk area, lots of toys and books. Bunks are full size and can sleep adults. Random slate slabs with underfloor heating and contemporary woollen rug. All bedrooms have traditional Welsh blankets and duvets.
Hallway with coat and boot storage leading to comfortable lounge with huge inglenook. Our own logs are supplied for the wood burning stove. Two lovely sofas and a feature hand hooked rug. Oak dresser with games for all ages. Beamed ceiling, digital, flat screen TV, DVD/video player, CD/cassette player, loads of books and a big DVD/video library. Second bathroom with power shower and contemporary WC, basin and bidet.
Very well-equipped modern kitchen/diner with double electric oven, microwave oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher – everything you might need and more to cater for six. Circular white extendable table and up to 6 matching chairs. Random slate slabs with underfloor heating plus pot bellied wood burning stove.
Outside there is a walled front garden with patio furniture and a rear patio area with more patio furniture. Large garden area and orchard with the Orchard House – housing the 2/3 seater hot tub spa! Outdoor children’s play equipment. Ideal for walkers, ramblers, families or just those wanting to get away from it all. Popular for birthdays and anniversaries.
All linens supplied including robes and flip flops for the hot tub plus extra towels. Welcome packs for all guests (even our canine friends) and lots of little extras provided in the kitchen including our own free-range eggs and toiletries inc. WC rolls in both bathrooms.
Weekly from £450 to £950 all inclusive – no hidden extras. Well-controlled dogs always welcome. Short breaks and long weekends often available at short notice – please enquire. Only 3 miles to the start of the famous Watkin path to the summit of Snowdon or why not leave the car and enjoy the many walks straight from the front door. Lots of maps and books to guide you. Rural location but only 20 mins from Tesco Porthmadog or order your groceries - they will deliver and we will happily put it all away so you can start enjoying your break from the moment you arrive. Don't forget your swimwear for the hot tub...and now with limited satellite wi-fi broadband.

Location description
Snowdonia is a staggeringly beautiful area of North Wales and many guests come to see breathtaking mountain scenery or walk the hills and valleys such as our own, Cwm Nanmor. Climb or use the mountain railway to get to the summit of Mt Snowdon - the Watkin Path starts just 3 mls from the front door. Try the Taster Days at the National Mountain Centre or try Quad Bike trekking or even get your hands on a hovercraft! Lots to do for families or just relax and stay close to home - unwinding in the hot tub after an afternoon's ramble. An ideal all year round base for walkers, families or just those wanting to de-stress and get away from it all!
Other activities
Try the High Ropes Adventure Trail or take one of the many steam railways. Music, singing, choirs, harpists - all at local theatres.
Local events
Steam train events especially at Easter and Christmas. Many local food and craft festivals including Bryn Terfel's famous Vaenol Festival in August. Re-enactment groups at several local castles and a Balloon Festival in nearby Llangollen in September.
Tourist attractions
Visit slate or copper mines or see one of the historic houses such as Ty Mawr in Conwy. The famous Portmeirion Village is only 5 miles away - beautiful gardens and unusual architecture (the cult TV series 'The Prisoner' filmed here in the 1960s).
