Description of holiday cottage in Tywyn, North Wales / Snowdonia

Traditional Welsh country cottage on the edge of a small village in the Snowdonia National Park, at the seaward end of the beautiful Dysynni Valley, with spectacular views of Cader Idris and Bird Rock and just a few miles from 4km of beautiful sandy beaches. We have no passing traffic, being at the end of a quiet lane.

In the cottage sleeping 5 the beamed kitchen has a refectory table with chairs, open to a spacious sitting room with sofa and easy chairs, colour tv/dvd, woodburner (helps heat water) and rugs over parquet floors.

We have a single bedroom downstairs and a large double with washbasin. The twin (or kingsize double) room is reached by a steep pine staircase from the sitting room (limited headroom, attic room). Bathroom on ground floor. Ideal for families. The cottage is well equipped with all we think you might need on your holiday.

We are an organic smallholding and can supply you with our own fresh veg and meat as required.

There is a tree house in the garden, trampoline and camp fire and there is plenty of space in the barn to store bikes etc, and to hang wet clothes to blow dry.

We are so close to the sea that we have a very mild and pleasant mini-climate. The gardens are large, and combine planted and wild areas over about 3 acres, to give a lovely cottage garden, and places to hide away. You can watch badgers and Red Kites and the views are stunning.

Around the village you will find a ruined castle, woods, waterfalls, sandy beaches, rock pools, sea and river fishing and lovely walks, ranging from easy strolls to more challenging expeditions.

Aberdovey offers an excellent golf course for enthusiasts and sea trips, fishing, and crabbing for the kids.

Tywyn is a small town with a cinema, leisure centre with fitness suite, and pool, and the famous Talyllyn Narrow Gauge Railway.

There is 4km of fabulous sandy beach all the way between Tywyn and Aberdovey. Lots to see and do! The Centre for Alternative Technology is fascinating, King Arthurs Labyrinth, also the Museum of Modern Art, both near Machynlleth.
