Description of holiday cottage in Strontian, Highlands
An Sean Tigh is an old stone croft house, possibly built in the late1700s.
It has been beautifully restored and is now an extremely comfortable cottage which sleeps four in two bedrooms, a double and a twin. There is an open plan kitchen/dining area/sitting room, and a spacious bathroom with bath and shower. The attached boiler house contains the washing machine/tumbledrier.
The cottage is very well equipped and furnished, warm and cosy. All linen and towels are supplied. The cottage is tiled throughout with underfloor heating, and with a multifuel stove for those who like to sit by a fire. The property is on one level but there are steps up to a pretty garden with a BBQ, table, chairs and umbrella. It is not fully enclosed. Parking is next to the cottage.
An Sean Tigh is on our working croft of 15acres where we have Highland cattle, poultry, a pig and various dogs and cats. Your own pets are welcome provided they are under good voice control and not left unattended in the cottage.
You are welcome to explore our croft which is a mixture of rough grazing, woods and bog, and home to a huge variety of wild flowers, particularly orchids and many species of birds.
The land is bordered by part of the Sunart Oakwoods, and also leads out onto hundreds of acres of moorland. Ben Resipole can be accessed from these moors.
This cottage and its location is ideal for walkers, cyclists, families, couples, friends or singles, in fact anyone who wants to relax in a delightful cottage in one of the most spectacular parts of Britain.
We look forward to meeting you.
