Description of holiday cottage in Saint-Aignan, Brittany

Gite Pomme is an old Farm cottage brought up to date to make your holiday comfortable and enjoyable, but still retaining the charm of the countryside.
With a Downstairs shower room and toilet it is an ideal gite for those finding stairs difficult, The lounge downstairs can be used as a bedroom also and can be made up so before your arrival, or made up nightly by yourselves.
Upstairs are 2 good sized double Bedrooms, with plenty room for cots and z beds too.
In the Lounge you'll find a tv with uk free view as well as videos and a music system, and games and books. We do have a tv computer game which is available on request.
The Kitchen is a very good airy room with a dining table and chairs and leads out onto your patio area which also has a table and chairs and parasol. There are lovely views from the gite across to the Forest and the everchanging farmland. We have dotted benches around the 4 acres for you to sit and ponder! and have a communal Bbq area with a view ! which is a very nice way to finish of the day, Or why not let me make dinner, choose from the menu, and it'll be ready for you on return form your wonderings!!!

Location description

We are lucky to live right at the heart of Brittany on the edge of the Quenecan forest and 5 minutes to Lac de Guerledan which has some lovely beaches, restaurants, water sports area and water buses. The area is a walkers and nature lovers paradise, with the Nantes Brest canal on our doorstep too we really are spoilt !
We have no immediate neighbours, but the lovely village is only 5 minutes by car and 10 minutes to Mur de Bretagne with a supermarket, boulangeries, bars and banks, and also a lovely evening market in the summer. Pontivy is our closest 'big' town which is good for a wonder and a visit to the chateau.
10 minutes away at the Abbey Bon Repos there is an amazing light and sound show at the beginning of august, they bring the history alive and is well a definate must see.
Some people come here with great intentions of doing everything possible, but end up just fitting into the pace of the place and totally relaxing, and they come back, so that must say something !!

Other activities

Brittany is Well known for cidre and crepes, both well worth coming for alone !! Meeting the locals and joing walks is great fun, As is rambling around the megaliths in the area. Mushrooming is a great past time in the Autumn or come and collect your own Walnuts and Apples on site !

Local events

Sound and light show at Bon repos is a must, local markets in the summer have a fantastic ambience with music and dancing
