Built alongside the Chateau in 1784, ‘La Forge’ was originally the village Smithy and many original features have been retained throughout the cottage and grounds, helping create a unique ambiance, amid spacious quality accommodation.

Nestling in the corner of the village square, flanked by the impressive 18th century Chateau and Church, the cottage benefits from a mature secluded cliff-top garden, with magnificent views across the beautiful Séoune valley below.

The stunning courtyard swimming pool, which is accessed directly from the lounge and garden, offers guests complete privacy and is partially set beneath an old vaulted stone archway, which was the original entrance to the Chateau. La Forge also benefits from a secure covered parking area.

Internally the cottage enjoys a large open plan split-level design with many original features, including the original forge. The large arched entrance incorporates an artists studio/office and cloakroom with toilet, leading down to the lounge area with feature stone fireplace. There are two spacious dining areas and a large beamed cherrywood kitchen, overlooking the garden.

The lounge provides direct access to the courtyard swimming pool and large terraced cliff-top garden, featuring the original forge pond. The garden enjoys many shaded areas for alfresco dining, ideal for relaxing over a glass of local wine or like many guests, capturing the ever changing landscapes in watercolour or on canvas.

Upstairs the cottage comprises of three double bedrooms with beams and parquet flooring, all enjoying views over the valley below, along with two bathrooms (one ensuite) and a laundry room.

Location description

Roquecor is a sleepy medieval hilltop village, tucked away in the department of Tarn et Garonne. The Lot, Tarn and Garonne rivers are major landmarks and around these you can explore the undulating hills and breathtaking views, dotted with small medieval hilltop villages, built in the famous white stone of the Quercy.

Other activities

La Forge is the perfect holiday venue for artists, enjoying superb views from the private cliff-top garden and includes an artists studio, complete with art materials, equipment and easels.

Local events

Sunday morning market in village, lively Bar/Restaurant hosts live music throughout the summer. Village Hall functions including music and arts festivals. Many other villages host numerous events and markets.
