Description of holiday cottage near Montignac, Aquitaine

The cottage was built over 100 years ago in traditional limestone with oak beams. It was completely restored to a high standard by a local artisan around 9 years ago. It is situated in a small, quiet and friendly, hamlet of 3 houses within the village of La Cassagne.

The gated-house and pool are on a hill (with fabulous views) overlooking the 12th Century Romanesque Church of the Village and are surrounded by fields, woods and walnut groves. Being slightly biased, we think it would be hard to find a better location than this one. The gite is quite simply situated in a lovely tranquil and idyllic location. Montignac, Salignac and Terrasson are nearby as are Restaurants and all leisure pursuits.

Location description

La Cassagne is a small village surrounded by oak forest and walnut groves. At the centre of the village must be one of France's most beautiful churches with its' well kept garden. One can simply walk for miles appreciating such stunning countryside. It is a fantastic spot for walkers and bird enthusiasts simply those who appreciate unspoilt countryside.

Shops and restaurants are close by and after letting the property for one year we have found that a lot of people are content staying put and admiring the stunning views from the pool.

There are plenty of towns and villages close by to visit including Sarlat, Montignac and Terrasson. There are an infinite number of castles and gardens and markets to see as well.
