Description of holiday cottage in Melle, Brittany

Pear Tree Cottage has lots of original features like an arched granite doorway and huge exposed oak beams.
The open plan lounge/ kitchen /dining area is ideal for family entertainment.
The comfortable lounge area has a log burner and some granite walls.
The well equipped kitchen area has double doors that open onto a covered veranda, this leads to the shared garden & pool area.
The 1st floor has 4 bedrooms, 2 double rooms 1 with an en-suite shower room, a twin - bedded room and 1 room with bunk beds.
There is a seperate shower room.
Outside there is a separate patio area with garden furniture, sun canopy and a BBQ, overlooking undulating farmland.

There are two and a half acres of gardens with open views over undulating farmland.
The communal patio area has a brick BBQ, the ideal place for parents to get to know one another, while the kids play. We have had many an enjoyable evening with a BBQ and a few drinks.
The heated above ground pool is made of teak to fit in with the surroundings in the orchard. The pool is open from May - September.
The gardens are the ideal place to either relax by the pool, have a picnic under a tree, or just sit and read a good book while sipping a glass a wine.
There is a 14ft trampoline with safety nets, badminton, swings, boules pit, swing ball, football net, and basketball in the gardens, along with numerous games. In the covered veranda area there is table soccer, table tennis and a darts board. The gardens are large and safe enough for children to play.
Just down the lane there is an 18 km Patrimoine walk through lovely countryside.

A 150€ deposit is required to secure your booking. A Booking Form with Terms and Conditions is available on request. The balance is due 8 weeks before arrival along with the 150€ security deposit.
A 150€ security deposit is required per cottage, this will be refunded to you after you leave providing it has been left in a reasonable condition and there are no breakages.
If the cottage has not been left in a reasonable condition then 75€ will be deducted to cover costs.

Although we are in a quiet location, we are only 5 mins away from the village centre with its bar-tabac-restaurant-shop. And only 10 mins from Louvigne du Desert with its, shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
Also nearby are attractions like Mont Saint Michel, water and floral parks, walking and cycle tracks, trout fishing, horse riding, canoeing, kayaking, Chateaux, and numerous places of interest.
We are the ideal place for that weekend break, a house-hunting trip, that romantic getaway or that family holiday, group bookings also available.
There really is something for everyone in this beautiful part of Brittany.

Other activities

Why not hire a bike, tandem or bike with kiddy chair and explore the area. The bikes will be delivered to your door and picked up.

Directions

La Basse Rouerie, 35420 Mellé, Ille et Vilaine, Bretagne, France and it will give you a route to us.
We are just off the A84, which is the main road through Brittany. Take Exit 32 sign posted St James and follow the route to Louvigne du Desert.
Directions from Mellé village to La Basse Rouerie:

Follow the road through Mellé for about a mile direction towards
Louvigne du Desert, you will see a green and cream striped building on the left in front of you, turn left there.
Follow this road, there is a 90 degree bend to the left carry on down the hill and you will see a large house on the right with two large cider barrels at the entrance, that is us so just pull in and park in front of the cottages.
