Description of holiday cottage near Malestroit, Brittany
Our cottage in South East Brittany is situated at Les Tregouets, a small hamlet 2 miles from the pretty village of Serent and 6 miles from the market town of Malestroit which sits on the beautiful Nantes - Brest canal..

Close to the Ploermel – Vannes expressway it is 1˝ hrs drive from St Malo, 3 hrs from Caen and Cherbourg and only half an hour from the beautiful coastal town of Vannes and the Golfe du Morbihan with all the beaches, boat trips and sites for bird watching.
This area abounds with water sports, boat trips to lots of islands and golf courses for all standards of play. Lake and sea swimming
The cottage, set in 2 acres of land, is a real home from home with panoramic views of beautiful open countryside. It is very secluded and safe for children and dogs. An ideal base for walking and cycling.
This is a very comfortable family home with open plan living room which is spacious, light, relaxing and tastefully furnished with plenty of seating.
There's also a T.V. (English Reception), Internet, Video, CD, tape player and radio.
Leading off the open plan living area are glass doors onto a large terrace with breathtaking views of open countryside. There is a barbeque and a large games room attached to the cottage with table tennis, pool table, table football, and darts.
On the first floor there are four double bedrooms, one of which has a bed which can be split into two singles and another which is twin bedded. There are two shower rooms, one of which also has a bath.
There is a wood burning stove in the living area for those chilly evenings and there are radiators in every room. The fully fitted kitchen is very well equipped including fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. A washing machine is also available in the larger shower room.
Standing on its own on the edge of the hamlet, fields & rural views all around. Safe for small children. Dogs are welcome.
This is an extremely comfortable and welcoming home from home. It is used extensively by the owners and there are many personal touches not usually found in a holiday cottage. The owners have been in the hospitality business and it shows. They have lots of repeat business.
The house is suitable for the elderly as long as they can climb stairs. The floors are all flat with no little steps. No smoking in the house but welcome outside. Well behaved dogs welcome. If anything is broken we would appreciate a replacement. Please inform our agent of any problems or breakages.

English TV, video, DVD etc. There are loads of indoor games such as Scrabble, Monopoly, trivial pursuit plus jigsaws and cards. Wide selection of videos for all tastes also bridge cards and cloth. |

Magimix and full cooking equipment. Owners are ex restaurateurs so very well equipped with pretty china and picnic things. Washing machine in one of the shower rooms. Clothes line, iron and ironing board. |
| Outdoors: |
Private garden, Terrace, Patio table, Patio chairs 2 acres of ground with sunshine all round. Table and chairs both sides of house to catch the sun and shelter from any wind. There are also deckchairs and rocking chairs and a hammock. Large inflatable paddling pool with pump in the cellar for guests to use if required. There are many mature oak trees that provide welcome shade in the hot weather. |

Car essential, Off road parking, Stairs There are 3 steps up to the front door. Once inside there are no steps on the ground floor. The stairs are wide and quite shallow to get to the first floor. There are 2 steps down to the second bedroom & bathroom. The ground around the house is reasonably flat. |
| Services: |
Linen provided, Towels provided Linen and towels are supplied and changed every week. Tea towels and beach towels are not provided. Property is cleaned every week but tenants required to leave it as they find it and to empty the rubbish. |

Location description
Supermarkets and shops are 5kms. away at Serent. The 63 km. Voie Verte (greenway) is wonderful for walks, cycling & rollerblading. Near to the Museum of the Resistance at St Marcel. Close to pretty town of Malestroit with a Thursday market. Medieval village of Rochefort en Terre is only a short drive away as is the romantic chateau at Josselin. The magnificent town of Vannes is but a 30 minutes drive on the express way where beaches, wildlife sanctuaries & watersports abound. There are boat trips of every kind leaving from Vannes for destinations all over the gulf of Morbihan.
Close to the Nantes Brest canal with its pretty tow path for cycling, walking and stopping for a drink or lunch in one of the little villages along the way. Ploermel, 15 mins. away has a lake with watersports and great 9-hole golf course with good practice facilities for all standards.
Malestroit has little shops and boulangeries and a market. This riverside town is very pretty and a cycle ride away. Serent is only 3 kilometres with its beautiful church, bars and local shops.
There is a museum of the resistance at St. Marcel. The Chateau at Tredion has lovely grounds to walk around. At Ploermel, the lac au duc has watersports, golf and other sporting activities.
Rochefort-en-Terre is another picturesque little town full of character, interesting shops and lovely chateaux. Carnac has the largest amount of prehistoric standing stones in the world. There are lovely little towns with sailing boats in the harbours all round this coast.
For the kids, the Parc de Préhistoire de Bretagne at Malansac nearby so a day out can include visiting the Parc and then to Rochefort-en-Terre. The Parc is a visual illustration of the period of the dinosaurs and then the evolution of man.
