As a large group you can take over one, several or all of the cottages (there are 17 altogether). The original group is converted from a 19th century farmhouse and barns, set around a landscaped courtyard, while a few newer cottages have been added in the last several years, constructed entirely within keeping. The cottages are all 3-4 star and are well equipped, maintained and decorated in country/modern style. Many still have original features, echoing their 19th century origins.
Outdoors there are patio areas and plenty of space for relaxing. A children’s play area is set in a wooded part of the grounds, and there are peaceful spots for picnics and barbecues within the three acre meadow and woodland grounds.
The on-site restaurant provides home-cooked meals and has a take-away service. It’s also bookable for wedding receptions etc. There’s a traditional Inn next door too, which serves meals all day and has a further children’s play area and animal centre. If you take over Knockerdown Farm as a group of up to 87 you can all buffet together in the Restaurant; alternatively, up to 55-60 people can sit down and dine together, more in spring/summer as there is also outdoor seating (advance notice will need to be given).
Each cottage has at least one bathroom, and a number have ensuite facilities. All have kitchens with fridge/freezer, microwave, regular oven etc, as well as TVs/video players/DVD/CD players, hairdryers etc.
All linen, towels and electricity are included in the prices. Everything you need for a wonderful self-catering holiday is on hand at Knockerdown Farm and the eating options are supreme. Free Wireless broadband is available in certain cottages and in the central games room/reception area.
The pool is indoor, heated and 30 feet long, with changing rooms, shower and sauna. The on-site Brackendale Spa uses natural products, organic where possible, and takes a holistic approach, it is a very popular option for the locals and visitors alike.
