Description of holiday cottage in Isle of Mull, Lochdon, West Coast and the Isles

Eastcroft is a traditional crofter's cottage built in 1858 and still in same family ownership.
It is situated in the small peaceful community of Lochdon that is built around the shores of a sea loch.
The views from the cottage are beautiful and it is a very relaxing place to be, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. There are no traffic jams and no crowds just peace and quiet.
There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen and many different varieties of birds to observe, the most famous being the sea eagles, which are often sighted over the loch.
The lounge is cosy with an open fire which heats the radiators and hot water, there are electric heaters in all rooms and an immersion heater for hot water, in case you do not want to light the fire. There is a large television with digital box and video, a hi-fi with varied cd's and an assortment of books for rainy days.
The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave various small appliances and a small tv with digital box. There is aslo a dining table and chairs for four people.
The bathroom is modern with toilet, basin and a bath with shower over.
The loft bedroom is accessed from a stairway in the hall and contains a double and 2 single beds. Three large velux windows let in plenty of light and are fitted with blackout blinds.
Lochdon is in a central position for exploring Mull. There are many places to visit on Mull, Duart Castle the home of the clan Maclean and Torosay Castle and gardens are 1 mile away. The ferry terminal at Craignure is 3 miles away. Craignure also has several restaurants, a shop with post office, a tourist information centre, and a swimming pool with spa and gym. A narrow gauge railway runs from Craignure to Torosay gardens and is a favourite with the children. A golf course is 1 mile from Craignure and welcomes visitors.
Tobermory is the main town, where the children's program Balamory is set, there are shops and several cafes and a sea life centre where boat trips can be arranged.
A trip to Iona is a must, you can visit the abbey there, it is a very spiritual place.
Mull has something for everyone, birdwatchers, fishermen, walkers or just people who want to relax and enjoy the tranquillity that Mull offers.

Location description

There is plenty to do and see in Mull you can visit Duart Castle home of the Clan Maclean, Torosay castle and gardens which are both only 1 mile from Lochdon. In Craignure you will find a tourist information centre, a pub, shop with post office. The Isle of Mull Hotel has a swimming pool, gym and sauna for public use. There are golf courses at Craignure and Tobermory.
There are many beauty spots around the island, the waterfall at Ballgown, the beautiful beach at Calgary and fantastic scenery everywhere. There are tours that can be arranged to see the wildlife sealife around Mull. A visit to Iona is a must.
