Description
Set in a magical surrounding is a true gem of Devon. The Garden Cottage in Kingscott near Great Torrington is a wonderful one bedroom retreat for couple or singles looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Devon countryside.
Designed and finished to a very high standard, the cottage effortlessly combines period charm and modern day contemporary elegance. Every room has large windows making them lovely and bright and with clean white-washed walls they are deceptively spacious. All the rooms are also given a splash of colour in the luxury soft furnishings.
As soon as you step out of your car you will be met with beautiful countryside views and the colourful garden, which surrounds the cottage.
The cottage itself has a large living room with an area for intimate dining and somewhere to enjoy relaxed evenings on the sofa watching the TV or listening to music. Open the French doors and let the breeze from the garden sweep into the room, bringing with it the small of fresh flowers.
The kitchen is very well-equipped and is perfect for cooking simple or romantic meals, as well as rustling up a picnic for a day on the moors. Features in the kitchen, include fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine and electric oven with hob.
A good night's sleep is guaranteed in the large and spacious double bedroom. The king size bed is nice and comfy and there is ample storage space with a walk in wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom at Garden Cottage is very well designed with a nice shower with sliding door, wash basin and loo.
Outside Garden Cottage is surrounded by a magical garden full of colourful flowers and local birds. In the summer enjoy a glass of wine on the pretty patio or take advantage of the BBQ, which is provided. There are even a couple of sun loungers, so you won't even need to go to the beach to top up your tan.

Location description
The Garden Cottage is in a stunning setting, surrounded by beautiful Devon countryside. It is the ideal base for walking or cycling holidays with the Tarka Trail easily accessible for routes to both the North and South and plenty of pretty woods to explore.
The North Devon coastline is home to miles of golden beaches and these can easily be reached from the cottage. The nearest beaches include Westward Ho! and Instow but only a little further along the coast are Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe and dotted all along the coastline are small inlets and coves where you can enjoy more secluded beaches for sunbathing and playing in rock pools.
Great Torrington is the nearest town to the cottage and offers a variety of shops, cafes and bars. The annual Mayfair is also not to be missed if in the area with lots of local acts performing in the town square and children dancing around the traditional maypole.
The New Inn is less than three miles from the cottage and this award winning pub is well worth a visit. Serving excellent food and drinks throughout the year it is a lovely place to celebrate a special occasion. You will also find places to eat in Umberleigh and the surrounding villages.
Barnstaple is less than a 20 minute drive from The Garden Cottage. The town is the largest in North Devon and is home to many of the well known shops, banks and restaurants. The town also has its own theatre, multi-screen cinema and leisure centre with indoor pool and gym.
