Description of holiday cottage in Coin, Andalucia
FINCA LA CUADRA - The Cottage Formerly a Stable has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable and rustic accommodation with part Hot & Cold Air Conditioning & Fans and offers far-reaching views towards the local mountains and the Sierra Nevada beyond. The surrounding countryside is covered with tracks, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy country walks.
The Cottage is in a rural spot, along an unmade country lane (dirt track) yet only 1 Kilometre away from the local By-pass, which takes you into Marbella in about 20 minutes and Malaga Airport in about 35 minutes.
The Cottage is a must for nature lovers and ideal for Honeymoons.
It is located in a beautiful part of the Andalucian countryside, which is covered with a large variety of wild flowers and herbs, including Lavender, Thyme and Sage and makes it a natural habitat for Partridge. It consists of 17.000 square metres (4 Acres)of rural land and the Cottage is in a fenced area of about 3.000 square metres(1 Acre approx), which contains some mature Olive trees and a variety of young fruit trees, e.g. Orange, lemons and avocados.
The water at the Cottage is the best mineral water in this area and drinkable.
It is pump-up from our sealed well, which has a borehole 500 feet deep below the earth and filtered naturally.
CHANGE OVER DAY
On a Saturday from June 2 – September 22
In other months, the change over days are flexible .
Arrivals are after 16.00 hrs & Departures before 10.00 hrs
CLEANING/TOWELS/LINEN/MAID SERVICE
The property is cleaned for your arrival and after your departure.
All bed linen and towels are provided.
“Large Pool towels are also provided”.
NOTES ON ACCOMMODATION
The property is totally self-contained with own gates and parking area.
If you should need any help? Don’t worry the owners are not far away.
WELCOME PACK
A free welcome pack for your arrival is supplied.
This consists of: Fresh Milk. Fresh Orange Juice, Water, Coffee, Tea bags, Sugar, Bread, Margarine, Jam or Marmalade, Cereal, Mixed Fruit, Beer, Lemonade, Jar of Olives, Bottle White Wine and a Bottle Red Wine.

Large corner shower. Vanity unit with a large mirror, lights, Marble top, Toilet and Beamed ceiling.
KITCHEN
Air Conditioned, Open-Plan and fitted with Rustic Units, Granite Worktop, Hob, Oven, Microwave, Fridge-Freezer, Washing Machine, Electric kettle, Tea pot, Coffee Maker and fully stocked with kitchen utensils, (more than you will ever need).
LIVING ROOMS
Air Conditioned, Large Sofa, Cast-Iron Stove, Free to Air Satellite TV, VHS Video recorder with loads of films, DVD Player, Beamed ceiling and Views, Portable Gas Fire,
A starter pack of logs is provided for the stove in winter. Extra logs can be bought locally.

Not allowed inside the home but is allowed on the terrace and on the grounds

OUTSIDE
There is a Terrace with a Pergola and a Barbecue,
This is where you can spend some time reading, having a meal or simply enjoying the scenery with the fragance of Jasmin and Honeysuckle.
Sit under one of the many mature Olive trees providing a welcoming shade, a Hammock, 2 Sun Loungers, 2 Reclining Chairs, 2 Parasols, Table and 4 Chairs are provided.
All outside furniture is supplied with cushions.
And for those long hot summer days, your own “Private Swimming Pool 8m x 4m (depth from 1.2m to 1.6m” with underwater lighting and a paved area. The pool area is fenced all around. Even so, children should be supervised at all times
THE ORCHARD
The Land is covered with a variety of young fruit trees e.g. Avocado, Apricot, Fig, Orange, Lemon etc. and when in season, the fruit may be picked by our guests.

Location description
Coin is situated at the foot of the northern face of the Sierra de Mijas, looking out over the spectacular Guadalhorce Valley. The area has many fruit orchards as well as the beautiful forests of Alpujata, La Fuente, El Charco del Infierno and La Albuquera.
Though Coin dates back to the Roman era, it is essentially an Arabic town and still retains many of its original features - well worth exploring. There are plenty of bars and restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine including traditional Andalucian fare. There is a large hypermarket on the outskirts of town with a variety of shops, boutiques and a 7 screen cinema.
The nearest golf courses are Alhaurin Golf and Lauro Golf both within 15 minutes drive of Finca Tropical. There are literally dozens of other golf courses within 30 minutes to one hour's drive to suit all standards.
The region offers a wealth of sporting and leisure facilties including bird watching, cycling, fishing, Go-karting, horse riding, night life, skiing (in the Sierra Nevada only 2-3 hours drive away) walking and water sports.
There are many local fiestas throughout the year for the visitor to enjoy.
Other activities
The nearest towns are Coin and Ahaurin-El-Grande, which are about 5 and 10 minutes drive. Both Towns have lots of Supermarkets, Shops, Banks and also an Open-Air Market once a week.
This area is also well known for Mountain Walks, Cycling, or Horse Riding, with stables that cater for the beginner and the professional.
COAST AND BEACH
The Beach is a 30-minutes drive
Malaga Airport a 35-minutes drive
GOLF
For the golfer there are many courses to choose from.
The local ones are Alhauring golf which was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and is 15 minutes by car and Lauro golf which is about 20 minutes.
La Cala Golf The two golf courses at La Cala are the main attraction of the resort. Both, La Cala North (Par 73) and La Cala South (Par 72) have been designed by North American architect Cabell B. Robinson. La Cala Resort is an exclusive residential and recreational complex of approximately 1,000 acres situated between the 'Sierra de Mijas' National Park and the Mediterranean.
SKIING
The Sierra Nevada is a 2.1/2 hours drive where it is possible to ski and snowboard.
