Charming rural gite within ten minutes walk of the centre of the pretty market town of Civray (pop. 2600). The cottage, all on one level, comprises one double bedroom (twin beds) living room with French TV, music centre and sofa, new kitchen equipped with fridge, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave, and a shower room.

Outside is the swimming pool and garden area and terrace, where you can eat warm croissants from the nearby boulangerie for breakfast, or linger over picnic lunches or BBQs in the evening. For dining out there is an excellent restaurant within walking distance, where tables are set out under the trees alongside the river Charente.

Bed linen and bathroom towels are supplied. A cot is available on request. There is a BBQ and garden furniture. Heating is included in the rent though in winter there may be a small supplement. For those house hunting there are estate agents in Civray.

Location description

The cottage is on the outskirts of Civray (pop 2600), which has markets twice a week. The location is very rural, relaxing despite being within 10 min walk of the town, with restaurants, bars and all amenities to hand. Approx journey times from St Malo, 5 hrs, Cherbourg, 6.5 hrs, Caen 5.5 hrs, Le Havre, 6 hrs, Calais 7.5 hrs, Dieppe 6.5 hrs. Airports, Poitiers, 50 mns, La Rochelle, 1.5 hrs, Angouleme 1 hr.

We are located in the southern part of Department 86, La Vienne.
Civray is situated on the D948 (Niort-Limoges) about 10 miles/15 Km east of its junction with the N10 (Poitiers-Angouleme). Follow Direction Limoges signs from Niort.At St Pierre D'Exedueil (about 9miles/14Km from the N10 intersection) turn right at the sign "Moulin Minot". Follow this road for about a mile and No 20 Rue du Moulin Minot is on the left. Turn into the drive and park in the space on the right.For shopping en route, Supermarket Super U is just after Sauze Vaussais (before the N10 intersection) on the D948, open till 1930 hours.
