GETTING HERE:
The cottage is best reached by car and a car is by far the best way to get around in Cornwall. If you are travelling from further afield, there are several Airports nearby. Newquay the nearest, about 40 minutes drive away, and Exeter just over an hour away.
From Wales or the North the best route is via the M5 from Bristol, to Exeter and from there the A30, A395 and A39 to Camelford.
From London and the East there are 2 options; via the M4 then the M5 (fastest route) or the M3 and then the A303 to Exeter scenic route (past Stonehenge). From Exeter both routes carry on via the A30, A395 and finally the A39 to Camelford.
Guests travelling from Continental Europe and other locations by car can choose to cross the channel to Dover, Southampton or Plymouth or the Euro-tunnel to Folkestone. The tunnel and Dover ferry are the most popular routes. From either; take the M20, M23, and M25 to the intersections with either the M3 or the M4 and follow the directions from London (above).

Directions
The Cottage is best reached by car and a car is by far the best way to get around in Cornwall. Having said that, if you are travelling from further afield, there are several Airports nearby. Newquay is the nearest Airport, about 40 minutes drive away, with Exeter the next nearest at just over an hour’s drive away. Both airports have car hire kiosks.
Driving from within the UK
From Wales or the North the best route is via the M5 from Bristol, to Exeter and from there the A30, A395 and A39 to Camelford.
From London and the east there are two options; via the M4 then the M5 (fastest route) or the M3 and then the A303 to Exeter scenic route (this will allow you to see Stonehenge). From Exeter both routes carry on via the A30, A395 and finally the A39 to Camelford. From our own personal experiences, we would advise the M4, M5 route over the M3, A303.
Driving from the continent
Guests travelling from Continental Europe and other locations by car can chose to cross the channel to Dover, Southampton or Plymouth. The most popular route is via Dover (from Calais, France). From Dover Take the M20, M23, and M25 (west bound direction Heathrow) to the intersections with either the M3 or the M4.
Travellers from the East of Europe, the Benelux countries, France or Germany tend to choose to travel via Dover or Folkestone by Tunnel or Ferry respectively. The Tunnel to Folkestone is slightly quicker (35 minutes) but less comfortable (you must stay in your car). The Ferry to Dover takes longer, 75 Mins, but provides an opportunity to stretch your legs, have some refreshment or do some tax free shopping. For both, book well in advance to avoid exorbitant prices.
There are several good web sites that can help you in your planning. We would be happy to provide these to you, simply send an enquiry via this site.
Please remember in the UK cars drive on the LEFT!
