Tourist attractions

Moray and Aberdeenshire are at the heart of Scotlands whisky country with over 50 distilleries each with its own individual charm and taste.

The Malt Whisky Trail in Moray takes you on a tour of 8 famous distilleries and a cooperage. Many distilleries offer you the chance to take a guided tour and sample their whisky.

The north east coast of Scotland and the Moray firth offer spectacular coastal scenery, from towering cliffs to sheltered bays and vast sandy beaches with spectacular sunsets.

Enjoy a gentle stroll or paddle in the clear waters or for the more adventurous try scuba diving, sailing or why not take a boat trip to visit the moray firths resident population of bottlenose dolphins!

Moray and Aberdeenshire boasts more than its fair share of historic houses from impressive ruins clinging to sea cliffs to grand mansions.

In the heart of Aberdeenshire a selection of 13 of the worlds most unique and striking castles can be found on the castle trail. To the west of Forres stands Brodie Castle - a beautiful fortified house dating back to the 16th century. The house and gardens are now maintained by the National trust for Scotland and are well worth a visit.

Royal Deeside was much loved of course by Queen Victoria who described it as her "Dear Highland Paradise"and subsequent British monachs have shared her love for the area.

Royal Deeside is part of the Cairngorms National Park the UK's newest and largest park. This area of outstanding natural beauty of high mountains ancient forests and sparkling rivers is home to some of Scotlands rarest flora & fauna.
