La Petite Maison is a one bedroomed self-contained annexe attached to Le Petit Manoir. It has its own private entrances and terrace. It is available from April 2009. La Petite Maison is ideal for couples, or small families. It has one bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area.
On the ground floor is an open plan living space (at least 50m2) with a modern fitted kitchen with a built-in fridge-freezer, dishwasher and cooker. Location description
The Poitou-Charentes has so much to offer. Something for everyone of all ages, from walking to water-skiing, medieval castles to futuristic theme parks and not forgetting all the good food and drink.
The area has such a wide range of things to see and do that it would be impossible to mention them all here. So here are some of the highlights of the area.
The Deux-Sevres is part of the Poitou-Charentes region and located just South of the Loire Valley region. Therefore, within easy reach of many chateaux and the wine producing areas of Anjou and Touraine.
Boussais is centrally situated between Parthenay, Bressuire and Thouars. Each of the towns has retained charm and character with small cobbled streets, walled ramparts and medieval buildings giving a wonderful background to the weekly markets that buzz with a life of their own.
Parthenay is a small lively town with many cafes, restaurants and shops. It is a favourite of mine where you can wander through the cobbled streets lined with medieval half timbered houses. It is also home to many festivals and fairs throughout the year, starting with the Easter fair and parade and others which include a games fair in July when the streets are lined with 3000 hand games, in which you are invited to participate.
A 10 minute drive from us is the Lac du Cebron, where it is possible to do watersports, swim, or just enjoy a picnic in the open air. A little further afield are the swimming lakes at Moncontour, which has its own beaches with play areas and a lake view restaurant and bar. It is ideal for children and adults. Here you can hire pedaloes and canoes, or have a go a teleskiing on the lake.

Directions
By Air
The nearest Airport is at Poitiers, which is about 45 minutes away. This airport is used by Ryanair from Stansted and Birmingham.
There are three other airports that are about 90 minutes away. These are Nantes, Tours and La Rochelle. These Airports are used by many airlines from many UK airports. The airlines using these airports are Ryanair, Flybe and Jet2.
I use a good flight checker on http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/. Go to the travel section and click onto the flight checker. It saves having to put the same details in repeatedly and gives the best prices.
By Car/ Ferry
It will take about 4-5 hours by car if you are travelling from the ferry ports of Caen, Cherbourg, St Malo or Roscoff and about 6 hours from Calais and Boulogne.
From Calais/Boulogne we take the A16, then the A28 to Le Mans and onto the A11 towards Angers, but then join the A85 to Saumur. From Saumur it is the N147 passing Thouars and we are about 20km south of Thouars. Come off the N147 when you see the signs for D725 (Airvault, La Maucarriere, Boussais). Then follow the directions below to find us in the village.
If coming from Saumur, Poitiers direction - When you arrive at the village take the first road on the left (rue de la daviere) and then the first road on the right (rue des tilleuls) and the house is in front of you on the left hand side.
If coming from Nantes, Bressuire direction - In the village, pass the square with the mairie and bar/restaurant and after the church take the first road on the right (rue de la daviere) and then the next right (rue des tilleuls) and the house is in front of you on the left.
Park at the side of the house.
