Description of holiday cottage near Bideford, South West
Cornborough is a unique country house at first lost in a bye-gone era but full of the highest quality interior design and all mod cons. Every care has been taken to ensure that all guests are relaxed and have absolutely everything they need.
The massive kitchen/diner at the centre of the house is where everyone meets to enjoy relaxed mornings, lazy lunches and fabulous family dinners. There are 2 lounges and 4 large bedrooms, (2 en suite) plus large family bathroom.
The large suntrap patio outside is ideal for family barbecues after a day at the beach or walking the many trails all around the area.
The house is great for large parties with children of all ages, having a games-room with table-football and a PlayStation and a ‘secret’ box-room with a toy collection that only children can enter!

Steps to sitting-room with 2 sofas, arm-chairs, bay window seat on to garden etc CD player and wood-burner. 14th Century oak door to upstairs.
Step to Games-room, large Inglenook fireplace, 2 sofas and French doors to garden with TV, Play Station and DVD player, plus loads of games to keep the children happy.
Large Kitchen/Dining-room with electric range cooker, microwave, 2 fridges, freezer and dishwasher. All modern utensils and an old bread oven.
Huge pine dinning table seats 12
Stable doors to patio and garden.
Utility-room with Belfast sink, washing machine and tumble-drier, ironing board, vacuum and cleaning products .
Cloakroom with WC and washbasin.
Half-landing children’s playroom, full of arts and crafts for the children.
All bedrooms are south facing and catch the soft early morning sun.
First Floor Bedroom with massive chunky double bed, relaxing chair, chest of draws and en suite shower-room with large shower, WC and wash-basin.
Bedroom 2 with twin beds and built in cupboard.
Bedroom 3 with bunk beds and built in cupboard.
Bedroom 4 with large double bed and en suite bathroom with bath, fitted shower, WC and washbasin.
Bathroom with bath, hand shower attachment, WC and double washbasins.
Outside access to the Annexe

Kitchen-area with electric 2 ring hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge.
Very large open plan studio room with high vaulted ceilings, dining and bedroom areas. TV. Twin beds and en suite. Remote control sliding curtains onto garden.
Wet-room with shower, WC and washbasin, (suitable for disabled access).
Garden and woods
Guests have access to large sweeping gardens to the front and rear of the house, with children’s wooden framed play area, with swings and a slide.
At the front of the house the lawned garden gives way to beautiful woods that are festooned with Bluebells in May. There is a gentle stream which meanders through the valley providing hours of safe exploring for the children.

Location description
Cornborough is situated at the end of a private lane in a wonderfully secluded spot just a mile from the sandy beaches at Westward Ho! and Northam which have some of the best surfing in the South West. It is set in an acre of private grounds with lawns, woods and gardens perfect for exploring, climbing and playing games all day long.
North Devon has some of the best beaches in the UK and Cornborough is perfectly placed for both the north Cornwall and Devon beaches. As well as the local beaches Westward the larger beaches of Widemouth, Saunton Sands and Putsburough are not far. Plus there are loads of coves and estuary beaches for those seeking a quieter day out.
North Devon is a mecca for adventure holiday seekers, with some of the best surfing in the UK and great beaches for Kitting and wind-surfing. There are Outdoor pursuits centres nearby with Skern Lodge down the road. For the less energetic there is plenty of fishing ,both river and sea. North Devon boats some of the best walking in the world with miles of coastal walks and Exmoor less than an hour away. Instow sailing club is 2 miles away and there are plenty of rivers for canoeing and kayaking.
The area is a golfers paradise especially if you like links courses. Royal North Devon, reputed to be the oldest golf course in Britain is only a few miles away. Whilst Saunton Sands, a Championship course is not far. For the less experienced there are plenty of golf courses to cater for players of all levels.
Cornborough is close to local shops at Northam and Appledore. Bideford is only a few miles away and has a large Morrissons.The villages of Appledore and Instow have wonderful restaurants and pubs. Look for The George at Appledore and the Boathouse at Instow.
