Walnut Cottage is a delightful two-bedroom gîte set in rolling countryside close to the peaceful hamlet of Aubry-le-Panthou. The cottage has been beautifully restored and is tastefully done out and supremely comfortable, with two good-sized, well-appointed double (or twin) bedrooms, both of which are on ground level making the property suitable for elderly people and those with some mobility difficulties. Living accommodation is designed in a U-shape; the main entrance leads through to a superbly equipped kitchen, then to a dining area with patio doors giving onto a private terrace, and finally to a lovely cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove. The cottage is stylishly designed to combine up-to-date comforts with traditional character, and many original features - including sloping ceilings, heavy beams and exposed stone - have been retained, while the décor throughout is fresh, light and homely. Attention to detail is first-rate making Walnut Cottage the perfect home from home.

Walnut Cottage has been thoughtfully designed to suit families or couples who like to holiday with friends but retain their privacy. Bedroom one is located in the oldest part of the cottage and has low ceilings, exposed beams and an en suite shower room. Bedroom two - at the other end of the cottage - is equally comfortable and prettily done out, and has patio doors leading onto a terrace overlooking the garden and neighbouring horse paddocks. Bedroom two is next to the family bathroom. Both bedrooms can be set up as either doubles (both with kingsize beds) or twins according to your individual needs, and an extra bed and/or cot can be added if required.

Set within our grounds of nearly four acres, there's plenty of space for children to run around (please note there are two ponds near the main house), plus a collection of garden games (badminton, pétanque etc.) and playground equipment. The cottage is surrounded by farmland with excellent walks direct from the house and with an extensive network of quiet lanes and footpaths to discover, the gîte make for an excellent base for walkers and cyclists. On your private terrace you will find comfortable garden seating, parasols, loungers and barbecue equipment. The terrace overlooks beautiful countryside, neighbouring horse paddocks and, of course, a walnut tree!
