Les Canardeaux is well equipped and comfortable, with generous sleeping accommodation for 6 people and 2 babies. The 8x4m pool has a security cover and alarm. French windows open onto a terrace overlooking the pool and beside the barbeque area, whilst tall iron gates at the entrance to the courtyard provide privacy.
The open plan living area has comfortable leather armchairs and settee with the wood burning fire acting as a focal point on cooler evenings. The TV has 6 French channels and a multitude of UK ones via satellite. There is also a DVD player and video player with a supply of DVDs - or bring your own. Wifi internet access means you can set up your laptop here, or anywhere else in the cottage. We also have an extensive selection of paperbacks.
The cottage is in the southern Loire Valley at the top of a peaceful hamlet overlooking farmland and surrounded by villages with restaurants, shops and local markets. You can walk to the nearby river where fishing is permitted. The cottage is ideal for exploring the beautiful countryside as well as the many attractions including the historic towns of Bourges and Issoudun, wines of Sancerre and the zoo at Beauval. Fishing and horse riding are popular pursuits. Local oils are a speciality including walnut, hazelnut and rape seed. There are many excellent wines to be sampled, gardens to visit and the beautiful black donkeys are a great attraction for children and adults alike

Location description
We are in the Berry, the southern part of the Loire Valley, ideally situated for exploring the whole region. To the north are the grand chateaux of the Loire such as Chenonceau and Chambord, the historic town of Bourges and the fine wines of Sancerre. To the west you will find the Brenne Natural Regional Park with its lakes for fishing and picnics and the attractive golf course at Villedieu; to the east, the picturesque town of La Châtre; to the south the vast lake of Eguzon for water sports. A notable weekly market takes place at St Août (10 minutes’ drive) and you should visit the excellent restaurants such as the Auberge de la Petite Fadette at Nohant Vic. Interesting walks and a tranquil riverside for fishing are on the doorstep.Other activities
