Description of holiday cottage in Alvorge, Costa de Prata / Silver Coast

The accommodation is a restored stone cottage set in the heart of Central Portugal.

The cottage is fully equipped and has a 6m x 10m swimming pool. It has beautiful views of the mountains from all of the garden.
We are 50 metres from the village square which has bars, resturants, supermarkets for your everyday needs, also WiFi internet access and an ATM.

The cottage is set in traditional Portuguese village.
We also have a 1 bed studio cottage available at same location.
Bookings of 7 days or more will receive welcome pack on their arrival, this will include local cheese, honey, walnuts and wine as well as the usual basics of tea, coffee etc.

From the terrace of the cottage are beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The main village square is 50 mtrs from the house and is perfect for a stroll around the small cobbled streets and stop for coffee at the local cafe.
The property is a complete getaway being peaceful and quiet but within 25 min drive of Coimbra (Portugal's 3rd largest city).

Location description

The local area is ideal for walking, rambling horse riding, cycling etc Accomodation situated in a rural working village amongst peaceful surroundings for total relaxation We are 1hr from the coast of Figueira da Foz 30 mins drive from the university city of Coimbra.
During the summer there are many fiestas in the area.
There is a lively weekly market at Ansiao every Saturday approx 8 kms away.

November see's the International Horse Fair at Golega where people from all over the world come to see the beautiful Lusitano Horses and the wonderful horsemanship shown by their riders.
