Description of holiday chateaux near Duras, Aquitaine

Chateau des Egrons is an elegant and historic 15th Century place which dates back to Roman times and has been lovingly maintained as a luxurious and well equipped home with modern facilities. It is surrounded by the rolling hills of SW France with vineyards, villages and entertainment.

A championship golf course and all the water sports of the river Dordogne are a short 15 minute drive away, and private tennis and a splendid heated pool are in the grounds.

The Chateau has lots of large rooms with high ceilings where family and friends can meet and play together, but also have their own private and elegant space when needed. The ambiance, space and charm is difficult to describe but those who visit frequently return. The 6 reception rooms, five bedrooms and huge kitchen and pantry are all at ground level.

The owner is a well know London cooking teacher who can, if arranged, also set up a teaching session and trips to the local markets. Food and drink feature high on the agenda at the Chateau as do sport and entertainment!
