Description of holiday chalet in Samoens, Rhone-Alpes
Chalet La Cascade is an authentic 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom Savoyard style chalet sleeping up to 10 people, in the heart of Samoens and the stunning vall้e du Giffre. A 5 minute flat walk to the village centre and the numerous restaurants, shops and bars and only a 1 minute walk from the ski bus stop. The Grand Massif Express ski lift is 800m away.
The chalet comprises a good sized ground floor area with fully equipped kitchen with plenty of storage space including a large fridge freezer, washing machine/dryer, full size oven, microwave, dishwasher and ample crockery, cutlery and utensils. The dining area with extendable table is comfortable for up to 10 but can seat 12 people... perfect for a large family get together. Leading on from the dining area is a very comfortable lounge area with seating around the cosy log fire and TV. The sofa can be converted into a double bed. French doors provide excellent lighting to the room and great views onto the surrounding mountains. Also on the ground floor is a large heated boot and jacket storage cupboard as well as an extra toilet equipped with wash basin.
Upstairs on the first floor you access two spacious bedrooms. The main bedroom... which has a king size bed and lots of storage space as well as an en-suite bathroom equipped with bath, shower, sink and toilet. This bedroom also has a balcony with table and chairs, great sunshine all day long and superb views. Across the hall is another comfortably furnished bedroom equipped with a double bed as well as a single bed and lots of storage space. The French door leads onto a further balcony with great views of Montage du Criou... a great place to sit and unwind after a day in the mountains. Located in-between the two bedrooms, is a second bathroom which has a shower, sink and toilet.
On the second floor is a loft-style bedroom which can sleep 3 people in a double and single bed. There is a DVD player as well as plenty of storage space. Through the velux window you can enjoy a great view across to La Cascade (waterfall) on the other side of the valley. All of the bedrooms are well appointed with wardrobes, drawers, shelves, hooks and luggage space.
The chalet offers a south facing terrace/garden area with table, chairs, barbeque, 2 sun loungers and full width, electric sun awning where guests can enjoy both winter and summer sun. There are also herbs planted in the garden which you are welcome to use. Outside the front is a parking area and a lockable garage for a car and storing your skis etc. There are also 2 bicycles for guests use free of charge!
To make your stay with us even more enjoyable, the chalet has a large flat screen TV in the living area with UK and French channels, DVD player a huge selection of DVDs and CDs, various books and games, Free WiFi internet, desk and chair area, a high quality sofa bed. A hair dryer and iron are also provided. You can also enjoy the open log fire with our unlimited supply of logs. There is a second television with a Playstation 2 and games in one of the bedrooms.
The chalet benefits from its own private parking and garage offering secure storage. Next to the garage is an additional large outdoor area, ideal for summer games or playing in the snow in winter time. A cot, high chair and stair gate are available on request.
Situated right next door is Chalet Lys Martagon, therefore ideal for larger groups or a few families holidaying together.
Chalet Levieu is also situated on this quiet cul-de-sac with an option of 2, 4 or 6 bedrooms.

Location description
The chalet is situated in a quiet spot, just 5 minute walk to the historic centre of Samoens. In winter the frequent ski bus stop is 50 metres from the chalet or the main lift is 800m away. Samoens is the only ski resort classified by the registry of historic monuments, hence the beautiful village and surrounding area is protected and hasnt been spoilt by mass tourism. Samoens ski area is part of the Grand Massif which is one the largest ski areas in Europe, joining with Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt, comprising of over 260 km of piste. In addition, the chalet and Samoens are just 1 hours drive from Geneva airport and is one of the closest ski resorts from Calais.The summers are amazing here and the scenery is as breathtaking. It is a perfect resort for an individual or family activity holiday, with waterfalls, mountain lakes, rafting, hiking, biking, adventure parks all walking distance.

Directions
Directions from Geneva Airport
When leaving the car park, follow the green signs for France, going straight for a couple of kilometers.
Still following for France, take a left hand turn from the main road, still heading for France.
At the traffic lights at the top, turn quick right before you go over the bridge.
Still following for France and also Chamonix, you will soon come to the French/Swiss boarder into France.
Following directions for Chamonix, and you will soon be on the motorway A40. The exit for Samoens is Junction 18 and the town is Cluses.

Leaving the A40 at Junction 18, where Samoens is clearly signposted. Follow the signs for Samoens through Cluses.
Continue following the signs for Samoens, up through Chatillon, and down through the other side.
About 2km after Chatillon, the road splits, turn right here for Samoens (signposted).
Follow for Samoens until you come to Morillon and continue through the centre of the village.
Continue straight for about 4 km (do not turn off for Samoens 1600). The road bends and you will cross a river after and come to a small roundabout.
Go straight across this roundabout and continue for about 500m to the end of this road, and you will come to another roundabout where you should turn right.
Continue for another 200m and you will come to another roundabout, go straight across.
Continue along this road for about 200metres, until you come to a T junction, turn right towards Sixt Fer a Cheval.
Continue for about 450m and just before the turning on the left for Les Vallons, there is a little turning on the right marked Cascades. Take this turning and follow straight for about 50m then follow this small drive way around to the right in between the wooden fences.
Then follow round past the garages and then round to the right and park to the right of the next set of garages.
Chalet Lys Martagon is the second entrance door from the right on the back of this building. Continued on page 2
