La Ferme d'Elise - a class of it's own
(1/15)
Description of holiday chalet in Morzine, Rhone-Alpes
Treat yourself to something quality this year by booking to stay at the finest restaurant in the Alps, just minutes from piste.
From the moment you arrive at La Ferme d'Elise you'll know it's different. What may take you the whole week to discover is just how different it really is. You will be greeted at the door by your personal Chalet Manager, who will welcome you and escort you to your rooms while the staff take care of your bags. You will pass the features of the chalet, such as the sauna and home cinema as you ascend in the lift to the upper level, from which you can glimpse the hot-tub and pétanque court. Presented with your first welcome drink, you will be reassured by the number of professional staff waiting to attend to your every need. But you will certainly be aware of how different it is by the time your first course is served that evening.
The upper floor of La Ferme d'Elise is the main dining and entertainment area. Centrally warmed by a log fire, it enjoys a lovely view from the entirely glass front-wall across the valley and towards the piste. The dining area is set up into separate round tables for more intimate dining, such as you would find on the upper desk of cruise-ships of old. The lounge suite was custom made for the space and allows you to recline in comfort before and after the meal. The bar, open all night, is well stocked with the finest choices of brandies, liquors, spirits and aperitifs.
Five-Star Accommodations
The accommodation in La Ferme d'Elise is more akin to that of a quality hotel in a large city. The rooms are all tastefully and thoroughly furnished with quality fittings, fixtures and bedding. You can enjoy television in the peace of your room in the evening, and almost all the rooms have some access to the exterior for fresh air. The en suites are decent sized, and toiletries of a decent quality are provided, and the towels are enormous and changed during your stay.
Fine Dining Every Night
Most guests start their day in La Ferme d'Elise with a cup of morning tea or coffee, served in the room. Upstairs, available at your convenience from 8am onwards, your breakfast awaits you. A selection of fruit juices, freshly-squeezed, cereals and locally produced yoghurt. The traditional English cooked breakfast is always available, but why not try the eggs Benedict or smoke salmon scrambled eggs instead.
When you return frmo the slopes, a selection of fancies and freshly baked cakes will greet you, served on the terrace if the weather proves clement. Perfectly accompanying this is the vin chaud, hot chocolate or more of the lovely coffee.
Following pre-dinner champagne and canapés, the tables are placed into intimate arrangements and the five-course fine dining experience begins. The two resident chefs, both with Michelin-star restaurant experience will be vying for your compliments as you make your way through the entreé, fish course, mains, cheeses and desserts on offer. Throughout, the meal is accompanied by hand-selected wines designed to compliment the fare on offer, and the bar is open for anything you could possibly request. It's hard to imagine that there might be a finer restaurant in all of the Alps.
With Proximity to Piste and Airport
People staying here can easily ski from one of the many lifts on either side of Morzine. Private minibus lifts are provided to and from the slopes each day, with pickups by pre-arrangement. Morzine is a thriving ski-hub enjoying more and more popularity each season. From either side you can access the Portes-du-Soleil with it's 650km of piste and great off-piste. You can also easily access the Nyon and Le Pleney ski lifts leading over to the Les Gets resort area.
There is a chauffeur service available at all times to guests at La Ferme d'Elise.
The chalet is located 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Geneva Airport where there are many rental car companies. Alternatively private transfers for guests can be arranged.
La Ferme d'Elise changes over on Sundays during season. It is available for short-breaks, though availability for these is usually only released less than a month before-hand.
