Description of holiday chalet near Dartmouth, South West

The Chalet has been fully refurbished, double-glazed and modernised, with it’s own allotted parking outside the bungalow. Fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, duvets, blankets and pillows.
You supply your own sheets, pillow-cases, duvet covers, towels and tea towels. A linen service is available if required at a small extra charge.

Bedrooms: one bedroom has kingsize divan, double wardrobe and bedside cabinets. The second bedroom has twin single divans, wardrobe and bedside chest.

The Lounge is furnished with a 3 & 2 seater settee, dining table and chairs, cabinet, coffee tables, colour TV and video.

The Kitchen has fitted units, electric cooker, microwave oven, refrigerator, electric kettle and filter coffee maker.

The Bathrooms fully fitted, with shower cubicle, wc, wash basin, heated towel rail, extractor fan.

General: Heating is by electric fan heater in the lounge, plus oil filled radiators. Fitted carpets throughout except kitchen, bathroom one has tiled floors with elec under floor heating, second shower room and toilet has tiled floor.

Additional Items: Books, games, videos and for your picnic (chairs, thermos flask, plastic knives, forks, mugs and plates).

Power Supply: A £1 electric slot meter is mounted in the cupboard in the main hall.

Local events

Steam Railways
The Paignton and Dartmouth Railway terminating at Kingswear. From Kingswear the train follows along the East bank of the river Dart then heads through wooded slopes to Churston, then along spectacular coastline to Goodrington Sands en route to Paignton. The South Devon Railway runs from Totnes (across the footbridge from BR station) via Staverton to Buckfastleigh travelling in close proximity to the picturesque river.

The River Dart
Admire the quaint Bayard’s Cove (alongside the lower ferry point) where the TV series ‘The Onedin Line’ was filmed. Take a steamer trip up the magnificent river to Totnes passing the residence of the late Agatha Christie plus the lovely riverside villages of Dittisham & Stoke Gabriel. Consider continuing your trip along the upper reaches of the river by steam train. Shorter trips on the river and to Dartmouth Castle. Take the car or passenger ferry to Kingswear.

ROAD – In The Heart of the South Hams – Devon. Two Miles outside Dartmouth TQ6 0NH

Travel from M5 at Exeter, follow sign posts to Plymouth (A38). At Buckfastleigh follow signs to Totnes (A384) Then follow signs to Dartmouth (A381) After Halwell, turn left, following sign to Dartmouth (A3122). Just after passing the “Sportsman’s Arms” on the left – Norton Park is only one mile ahead.

Another route will take you via the Ferry. This is really the nicest way to see your first view of Dartmouth. This route takes you from the M5 via the A380 past Newton Abbott and Paignton. Look for the signpost to Dartmouth (A379). Follow the sign to “Higher Ferry”. Once in Dartmouth take the A379 onto the A3122, this is straight ahead at the mini roundabout, “Norton Park” is just two miles from Dartmouth on the Right Hand Side.
