Perched on the hillside, The Larches has outstanding views over the picturesque town of Church Stretton - nicknamed “Little Switzerland” and the only market town to be found in South Shropshire’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Adjacent to the main house, The Larches is equipped and furnished to a high standard and can sleep up to two people.
Church Stretton town centre is an easy stroll away. Here you can find small shops, cafes, restaurants, a wine bar, pubs, an antiques market, golf course and railway station. The train can take you to the centre of medieval Shrewsbury or the historic market town of Ludlow in approximately 15 minutes and is on the mainline from Cardiff to Manchester. Also within easy reach are notable sights such as the museums of Ironbridge, Stokesay Castle, Offa’s Dyke, Weston Park and Buildwas Abbey to name but a few.
The Larches is dwarfed by the glorious backdrop of the Long Mynd, Caradoc and Carding Mill Valley all but a stone's throw away. You are spoilt by many beautiful and scenic walks to suit both the less energetic and more experienced hill walkers.
The Larches and Church Stretton are the ideal place from where you can go onto explore the rest that Shropshire has to offer.

• Private decked balcony area running along the side of the cabin with furniture - set within a small copse of larches over-looking Church Stretton. Outdoor table and chairs for two people provided.
• Traditional log cabin interior with scatter rugs
• Open plan sleeping/sitting/dining/kitchen area.
• King sized zip & link bed which can be set up as a twin if preferred. Small wardrobe with drawers. Bed linen provided.
• Sitting area has a large two-seater leather sofa, 32” flat panel TV, DVD player, selection of DVD’s.
• Dining area has table with seating for two people (more seating can be provided should you have guests for dinner. The table will sit four.
• Fully equipped kitchen including a slim line single, multi-function oven, microwave and two burner ceramic electric hob.
• Separate shower room and toilet. One large, one medium and one hand towel provided per person.
• Wi-Fi and internet access provided free of charge.

The Larches is adjacent to the owners family home, but has it's own private balcony facing away from the main house.
It is set within a small larch copse which looks towards outstanding views of Church Stretton.
Church Stretton is a short stroll away (approx 800 yards) but because of the Larches location - up a steep drive away from the main street - it remains very private but with all the conveniences of a central town location.

Location description
The historic market town of Church Stretton is situated in the heart of the South Shropshire hills on the English/Welsh borders. This part of the Marches is still relatively undiscovered and Church Stretton is the only market town in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is an area renowned worldwide for its geology, with some of the oldest rock formations in existence.Church Stretton with its picturesque surrounding villages forms an excellent base for the country lover or sportsman alike, in all seasons. Cross-country routes are well marked for hikers, horse riders, mountain bikes, and naturalists. The Long Mynd, which rises above the west of the town, is renowned for gliding, hang gliding and paragliding, and boasts the second highest golf course in England. The beautiful countryside, with its wild uplands and breathtaking views, features prominently in the books of Mary Webb, A E Housman, and Malcolm Saville.
Situated midway between Shrewsbury and Ludlow, Church Stretton is also a convenient centre from which to visit several historic towns, castles, museums and sites of interest, within a 15 mile radius through beautiful countryside. The area offers an excellent range of accommodation, restaurants (some Michelin starred), pubs and shops.
There is something for tourists and visitors of all ages and interests, with a year round programme of festivals and events.
There are many other things to see and places to visit within 15 miles, from Roman cities and vineyards, to working museums and open halls and gardens.
Events of interest to visitors take place through the year, such as the Walking Festival in June - Real Ale trail in July - ChurchstrettonSummerFest in June - Christmas Fayre - Arts Festival, local theatre and music productions, and Long Mynd Hike (a challenging 50 mile hike over the hills).

Church Stretton is approximately 20km from the historic town of Shrewsbury. Take the A49 from Shrewsbury through the villages of Bayston Hill, Dorrington and Leebotwood (to name a few). You will then arrive at Church Stretton traffic lights. We are approx 0.5km from these lights.
