Description of holiday cabin in Windermere, Lake District / North West
This well appointed luxury centrally heated timber lodge, with South facing decked area and hot tub, is set in a quiet location at the five star White Cross Bay Holiday Park, yet only a minute’s walk from all the amenities. The accommodation comprises of a well equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, open plan dining room and comfortable lounge with CD player television and DVD and video players. The main bedroom has an en-suite shower room, built in wardrobes and wall mounted television, the twin bedded room has a built in wardrobe and is next door to the family bathroom. Externally and internally clad with timber the lodge has a high standard of insulation. For the health and safety of all our guests we operate a strictly no smoking policy in and around the lodge. Free WIFI is available in the lodge.
This is a beautifully maintained park, which has been awarded a David Bellamy Gold award for its conservation efforts is midway between Ambleside and Windermere in the midst of superb Lakeland countryside. Onsite there is a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and fitness suite, a relaxing bar and a fully licensed restaurant. A takeaway service is also available if you prefer to eat in the comfort of your own accommodation. Laundry facilities and a well stocked shop and off license complete the indoor amenities. Outdoor there is children’s play area and tennis courts. Sailing and water sports enthusiasts can enjoy the marina at White Cross Bay which offers one of the best boat launching facilities on Lake Windermere. A stream meanders its way through the park encouraging ducks, swans and other wildlife.

Location description
The lodge is within 50 meters of Lake Windermere with is cruises, boat hire and watersports. Walking is part of the Lakeland experience and is possible from the lodge or short car journeys open too many posibilities to mention. Within a mile is the National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole and slightle further is the water sports centre of Low Wood. Ambleside - with its shops, cinema and restaurants is 2 miles North and Windermere is 2 miles South. Lakes cruises, from either Windermere or Ambleside, can take you round the lake or to either end. At the southern end of Windermere the Lakes Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway make interesting destinations.

Directions
For holidays from the South/East
Leave the M6 at junction 36, then at roundabout take the exit onto the A590 (signposted Kendal, Barrow). The A590 becomes the A591 - Continue onto the A591 (signposted Windermere)
at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A591 (signposted Windermere)
Continue on the A591 through Stavely and Ings before entering Windermere.
At mini-roundabout straight across (signposted Ambleside)
Follow A591 for a couple of miles and White Cross Bay is on the left.
Holidays from the North
Leave the M6 at junction 40 take the 4th exit onto the A66 (signposted Keswick)
Continue on the A66 to Threlkeld – turn left onto the B5322 (signposted St John’s in the Vale)
At the junction with the A591 turn left (signposted Ambleside) continue on the A591 through Ambleside towards Windermere and after 2 miles White Cross Bay is on the right.
