Description
Beautiful restored village house with secluded heatable private pool and baby pool surrounded by lemon trees and jasmine, 12 mins drive from Latchi and Polis. Local kebab 100m
This villa is quietly situated in a no through lane, and is hidden behind high stone walls, and gated for more privacy. The house has been sensitively restored by the owner George, who has lived all his life in Lysos. Highly recommended to guests who want to relax and sample traditional village life in a restored house with many original features, whilst enjoying home from home comforts. Slightly off the beaten track, visitors are made very welcome in this hilltop village, with its views across the Akamas National Park, to the sea.
A short 100m stroll brings you to the heart of the village where you will find 3 coffee shops, two also offering sandwiches, hamburgers and drinks. One offers souvlaki kebab, another food to order. The coffee shops have added some minimarket items to their range which is handy, so you can get some basics in the village. Just 600m away on edge of village with wonderful views is attractive stone built Paradisos Hotel and they serve good food and it's a lovely spot for a drink at sunset.
The Polis area offers beautiful countryside and uncrowded beaches, including sandy Lara Bay, where the turtles nest, and Chrysochou Bay, which offers mile after mile of quiet beaches alongside citrus groves, with a dramatic backdrop of hills. The nearby Paphos Forest has spectacular scenery and we highly recommend a visit.
For families with children donkey rides are available in village.
Accommodation
The villa is all on one level, 3 bedrooms, 2 double with French doors to poolside, (Master bedroom has TV and adjoining bathroom with jacuzzi, shower, w.c.), and a twin bedroom. 2nd bathroom with bath, shower and w.c. Fully equipped kitchen.
Comfortable and spacious air conditioned lounge with original stone fireplace, (starter logs supplied) and a woodburning stove. Open plan dining room for 8.
Outside: Brand new pool for 2014. Private pool with both steps and ladder access, Brick BBQ, working clay oven for Kleftiko Lamb and bread. Garden with scented plants which are illuminated at night. Concealed hi fi speakers. There are 7 steps from main gate and the villa is enclosed for privacy by a 9’ high stone wall with antique wooden gates. This is handy if you have young children as you can close the gate. New: Comfortable outside seating (not shown).
