The tranquility of Toffo shouldn't distract you from visiting the sublime Mediterranean coast, a 20 min drive away. The beaches of Versilia and Marinella and the famous cliffside walks of the Cinqueterre are within easy reach.

Day excursions to the cultural centers of Florence, Pisa, or the marble mines of Carrera are easily undertaken, but for those who prefer less travelled paths we recommend nearby Lunigiana or Garfagnana, where tourism is less evident and medieval hilltop villages and breathtaking natural vistas are around every bend. Hikers will find some of the planet's most spectacular trails here, meticulously devised and maintained by the Alpine Club of Italy.

Whatever adventures you choose to undertake, a return to Toffo at the end of the day is return to your home away from home, where impromptu dinners are common, conversations are multilingual, and you can be yourself.
