Description of holiday b&b near Bude, South West
Oak Lodge is a "Top Quality" family run contemporary B & B, that is open all year.
Making your stay special, we offer, comfort, friendly service, great surroundings and top class accommodation.
Our superior king size room has stunning views across the old market town of Stratton and the countryside. The large en-suite has a double shower.
The double room and en-suite have stunning views across the hills.The room is dual aspect, so plenty of light.
Our superking/ twin room is also dual aspect. This room has a separate private bathroom, which has a large bath with central tap, plus a separate shower cubicle.
Our annexe a double en-suite room is ideal for disabled, elderly, people with dogs and anyone who does not want stairs.
We try and be as eco friendly as we can. We have rain water recycling plus under floor heating downstairs. The rooms are serviced daily. Bedding is changed once a week, or in the middle of your stay if it is for a longer period.
Why not relax in our snug and look out across the hills and Stratton.
Breakfast can be served in the dining room, or if weather allows out on the decking in the sunshine. We have a range from toast, cereals, specials, continental or full cooked, and smoked haddock, something for everyone.
Our chickens may be out running around while you are relaxing, they are great to put a smile on people's faces, but even better to eat their freshly laid eggs.
We can offer off road parking, free wifi, ironing facilites and use of our fridge.
Also we can do your washing at a small charge.

Location description
Bude has lots of beauty spots to explore, we have 1 of only 2 sea locks in the Country. The coastal path is great for walkers or families. Our surf is one of the best, Widemouth beach is just along the coast for great waves.
Bude's sea pool is a safe place for children to swim which is sheltered with life guards on duty.
Boscastle and Tintagel are 30 minutes drive. The Eden project can be reached in 45 minutes.
The Milky Way is a fantastic place for families of all ages it's about 20 mins away. They have birds of prey, a train, archery, lots of death slides and climbing frames.
Cornwall has plenty of National trust houses so plenty to do.
We are located in an ideal area to visit Devon and Cornwall and all that it offers.

In May we have the reanactment of the battle of Stamford Hill, between the Round heads/Cavaliers. End of August is our annual Jazz festival, when we get people from all over the country coming to stay, it's a great buzz.

Directions
From the M 5, head for Okehampton on the A30. Then take the A386 towards Holsworthy. When in Holsworthy follow signs for Bude. Where the A3072 meets the A39 turn left, we are 100 yrds on the right.
If coming from Barnstaple direction follow the A39 to Stratton, as you go into the 30 mph speed limit, we are the first house on the left.
From Cornwall follow A39, we are opposite the Stamford hill slip road at Stratton
Buses go from Stratton - Bude every hour, also buses from Bude to local villages run quite frequently.
