Description of holiday apartment in San Donato in Poggio, Tuscany

The location is placed on the first floor of a small condominium. It's 100 metres large. There's a well equipped kitchen with a fridge and freezer a dish washing machine an oven and the cooker. From the kitchen you can directly go into a balcony, where there's a washing machine. There's a dining room with a quite big table and 6 chairs. In the living room there's a sofa, an armchair, a coffee table and a television.

From the living room you can directly go to a large openable verandah where you find a table and 6 chairs and from where you can enjoy a beautiful view over the country and the chianti hills. Through a stair you go to small attic where you find two single beds, a desk and a chair. There's also a double bedroom and a smaller bedroom with 2 single beds. There's a bathroom with a bath and a shower. In front of the building there's a small garden that belongs to the apartment. The owner lives 800 metres far from the location and she's an expert language teacher, so if you like you can have private Italian language lessons directly from her. There's a free car park just in front of the building.

Location description

The apartment is placed in a green and residential area just outside the historical village of S.Donato in poggio. The village is in the Chianti area, midway beween Florence and Siena. From here you can easily reach places of high art and historic value, such as Florence, Siena, S.Gimagnano, Lucca, Pisa, Volterra etc. You can have beautiful tour in the Chianti area, or go wine tasting to the farms that produce the famous Chianti wine. If you like sport, you can play tennis, go swimming, horse riding, trekking or play golf in an exclusive golf club not very far from the village. If you want to learn Italian you can attend one of many schools for foreigners in Florence or Siena, or directly in the village, as the owner is an expert language teacher.

Other activities

You can visit castles or museums, go to concerts at night organized by a music association, or go to the theatre. You can also reach the beautiful tuscan coast in about an hour and half and enjoy a day by the sea.

Local events

In the Summer you can take part in the interesting art exibitions or street markets, held in all the Chianti villages, where you can find typical local products or hand made pottery or wood items.

There are so many tourist attractions in the area, that it will take you a whole year to see all of them. Florence, Siena, Pisa and smaller towns are the most important ones, but the astonishing views of the chianti hills and countryside are also attractive.

Directions

You can reach S.Donato in Poggio both by bus, and by car. You can take the bus from Florence, Pisa, or Siena and get easily to the village. If you travel by car both if you come from the north and the south, you must travel on the motorway called M1 and leave it at the exit called "Firenze Certosa". As you are out of the motorway you take the road called Superstrada Firenze-Siena and leave it at the exit called S.Donato in Poggio. The village is 2 Kilometres far from the exit. If you come by bus ,you can take it in Florence and in about 30 minutes it will take you 100 metres from the location.
