Description of holiday apartment in Samoens, Rhone-Alpes
A stunning first floor, 2 bedroom apartment, located just 100m from the historic town of Samoens in the French Alps. It is situated in the Jardin Des Neiges building which is a stone's throw away from the town centre yet secluded enough to benefit from peace and tranquility. The apartment was renovated 2 years ago and being family owned, has been carefully equipped to suit families with small and older children. It can sleep upto 6 but is ideally suited to 4 people.
It is furnished to a high specification including a flat screen TV, Sky TV, DVD with films for all ages, Playstation 2 with games for all ages, CD player with numerous CDs and books and games for all ages too.
The living area is bright and open plan with double doors opening onto a large, south facing balcony with stunning mountain views. There is a sofa bed and seperate seating area. The quality fitted kitchen is fully equipped and offers ample workspace, dishwasher, washing machine, combination microwave/oven and ceramic hob. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and provides most things that you would expect in a family kitchen.
The master bedroom has a double bed with French doors and great views. Bedroom 2 is small but has adult sized bunk beds. There is a shower room with wc and large corner shower and also seperate wc. With families in mind, we offer the use of a travel cot, highchair and baby bath if required.
There is a private garage plus an additional parking space and also a ski locker.
The price includeds quality linen and towels with beds made up prior to arrival, electricity, small welcome pack and final clean.

Location description
In the winter you have access to the Grand Massif ski area which is the 3rd biggest area in the Alps, which include Flaine, Samoens, Morillon etc. Many slopes are north facing, so retain the snow for longer periods. The Grand Massis Express Gondola whisks you up the mountain to Samoens 1600 in 8 minutes. From there you have access to the Grand Massif. In the summer you have access to wonderful walking, mountain biking, white water rafting etc. There is a man made beach on a lake nearby which is life guarded at peak season for swimming. The town of Samoens hasn't been spoilt by tourism and has been awared a 'Coq d'Or' for being one of the prettiest villages in France. It is a traditional Savoyard town with plenty of excellent restaurants, bars and shops. The Giffre valley has spectacular scenery including mountain lakes, botanical gardens and enormous waterfalls.

Winter: skiing, cross country skiing, paragliding, ice skating etc. Summer: walking, climbing, mountain biking, swimming, white water rafting, horse ridiing.

Directions
We are 1 hour from Geneva Airport and flights can be booked all year with plenty of budget airlines travelling there. These are Easyjet, Bmibaby, Jet2. There are plenty of car hire companies at the airport, or local transfers can be arranged. Driving from Calais is very easy and takes around 8 - 9 hours. The train can take you all the way to Cluses, and then local transfers can be arranged from there. Full directions will be provided before departure.
