Description of holiday apartment near Porto Covo, Plains / Alentejo

The apartment is one of two in a house in the countryside, not far from the Atlantic coast and Porto Covo and the Ilha do Pessegueiro. There are many varied beaches all within a short driving distance, catering for all tastes. These are not crowded even in the height of the season, and the climate being mostly good also in spring, autumn and even winter.
There are possibilities to go surfing, bodyboarding, wind and kite surfing, walking along the cliffs and sand dunes.

There is a garden, sheltered and private, with barbecue area. Own transport is needed as not a great choice of public transport connections. There is never a problem parking for the beaches, or when going to local villages or town to go shopping, sightseeing etc.

There are many restaurants, some specializing in seafood which always have very fresh fish every day. The Local fishing village of Porto Covo has a fish and veg Market with a lot of local produce, so always easy to get fresh products for cooking or grilling, a favorite pastime of the Portuguese.
A boat is on sevice in Porto Covo to take visitors to the island, just off the coast, Ilha do Pessegueiro a bird sanctuary and with ruins from the Romans and before, this boat is the only way to visit the island as it is forbidden for other people to go there as it is a protected area.

Location description

There are many beaches as said before, but also possibilities for sightseeing, walking, visiting Roman ruins, castles, fort, boat for visiting the Ilha do Pessegueiro a bird sanctuary and ruins of a salt factory from before the roman times, grilling in the privacy of the garden area or on the beach, waterfall, fresh water reservoir for swimming, wind and kite surfing, very quiet you have the place to yourself sometimes.
