This exquisite and luxuriously appointed property has a unique position in that is it only 20 metres from the sea and has breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. To the rear of the property are lush tropical gardens complete with sun-terraces, lawns, ponds and a water fall. It’s open aspect ensures that no mater were you sit and relax or wander through the gardens you always have a view of the sea with the fishing boats and yachts making their way into the little harbour at Fornells.
The property is built in a typical Menorquin way having white washed walls and red tiled roof but inside it has been modernised with no expense spared to ensure it is comfortable, fully equipped and furnished so that your holiday here is a memorable one.
It is on the ground floor and has a terrace overlooking the sea with a small but private garden complete with a barbeque, there is car space immediately in front of the property. Inside the lounge is bright and airy having full width French windows opening up onto the terrace. There are settee’s and easy chairs and a separate area for dining that has a full sized table and four dining chairs.We have also added a LCD digital TV complete with UK Sky and surround sound, a hi fi system, DVD player, radio and a selection of books, music, films and games. There is air conditioning fitted for hot days and nights that also has heating for early/late bookings. There is a safe for your valuables.
The kitchen is open plan with a fully tiled breakfast bar, has a ceramic hob with electric oven, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer, hood extractor etc and all the utensils, cutlery and crockery that you could possibly need to ensure your perfect holiday. The large bedroom has a double bed and a fully fitted wardrobe and a double bed with a luxury sprung mattress. The fully tiled bathroom has a full-size bath with power shower and heated towel rail.
The large pool with its sun terraces and loungers is only a minute away.
Location
The property is built on the renowned and private resort of Playas de Fornells, which although small still contains all those amenities essential for that ‘perfect’ holiday. There are tapas bars, small supermarkets & restaurants as well as two unspoilt and sandy beaches with life guards during the summer months. Playas de Fornells is considered to be of such innovative design and in such a sensational location that is has been awarded ‘A place of special interest’ by the Spanish tourist board and thought to be the most photographed in the western Mediterranean.
The sea that surrounds it has been nominated as a Marine Park ensure its abundant species are protected, this is also true of the hills and woodlands that encompass the other side of Playas de Fornells and in order to protect the flora and fauna this has been made into a National Park (Biosphere).
Just along the coast a few kilometres is the beautiful unspoilt fishing village of Fornells, famous throughout Spain for its connection with the Spanish Royal Family and the numerous waterfront bars and restaurants where you can taste the local specialities probably only caught a few hours before. There is a regular bus service into Fornells from the resort or you can enjoy the walk along coastal path that connects the two.
Fornells also has every water based sport or enjoyment there is to be had, from Para-sending to wind surfing and deep seas diving.
A little further afield is the quaint ‘very Spanish’ town of Es Mercadal, renowned for its cakes and pastries and 25 kms away is the capital of Mahon, built on cliff top ramparts and having the second largest natural harbour in the world, an absolute ‘must see’.
Menorca is different from what many would consider to be a typical Spanish destination in that it has not succumbed to the overt and rampant commercialism of its sister islands, the pace of life is slow & tranquil and the locals warm & friendly, just the perfect place for the perfect holiday.
